Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at a device with one or more processors, non-transitory memory, a display, and an input device. While a plurality of media items are stored on the device, the method includes detecting the occurrence of a condition that corresponds to a request to free storage on the device, wherein the plurality of media items uses a first amount of storage on the device and a minimum amount of storage on the device has been reserved for media items. In response to detecting the occurrence of the condition while the plurality of media items uses the first amount of storage, the method includes, in accordance with a determination that the first amount of storage on the device is greater than the minimum amount of storage on the device that has been reserved for media items, deleting one or more of the plurality of media items and, in accordance with a determination that the first amount of storage on the device is less than the minimum amount of storage on the device that has been reserved for media items, forgoing deleting one or more of the plurality of media items from the device.
