Abstract: An electronic device may include a conductive housing with a rear wall and a sidewall. A display may be mounted to the sidewall and may include a conductive display structure separated from the sidewall by a slot. An antenna arm may be interposed between the conductive display structure and the rear wall. A first inductor may couple the conductive display structure to the housing and may compensate for a distributed capacitance between the antenna arm and the conductive display structure. A second inductor may couple the antenna arm to the rear wall and may compensate for a distributed capacitance between the antenna arm and the rear wall. A speaker may be co-located with the antenna. A third inductor may couple the antenna arm to the rear wall to allow antenna currents to bypass the speaker.

Abstract: A head-mounted device such as a pair of glasses may have display systems. The display systems may present images to eye boxes for viewing by a user. The glasses may have clear lenses through which real-world objects may be viewed from the eye boxes. The glasses may have a metal frame that surrounds the lenses and may have temples that are coupled to the frame using hinges. Radio-frequency transceiver circuitry such as cellular telephone transceiver circuitry may be coupled to one or more antennas in the head-mounted device. The antennas may have antenna resonating elements formed by placing dielectric-filled gaps in the metal frame to divide the frame into segments. Antenna resonating elements formed from segments of the metal frame may be coupled to the radio-frequency transceiver circuitry using transmission lines.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a display having an emulation component and a separate calibration component. The emulation component may provide a user of the device with a list of available emulation presets at least some of which is common across a large batch of displays. The calibration component may include at least one factory calibration setting that may be shared among one or more of the emulation presets. The user may optionally add to the list of emulation presets by filling up empty emulation slots in the emulation component. The user may also be given the option to recalibrate the display or to add custom calibration datasets using calibration targets different than factory targets. The custom calibration datasets may be optimized for one or more of the emulation presets. Thus, when the user selects a particular emulation preset, the display may automatically select the desired calibration dataset for optimal performance.

Abstract: An electronic device may have peripheral conductive structures and a conductive layer that define edges of a slot element for a slot antenna. The slot element may be configured to cover wireless communications in a 1575 MHz satellite navigation band and 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless local area network bands. A tuning circuit may be coupled across the slot approximately half way across the length of the slot. The antenna tuning circuit may include an inductor coupled in series with a notch filter (in scenarios where the slot is long enough to cover the 1575 MHz satellite navigation band in its fundamental mode) or may include a capacitor coupled in series with a notch or low pass filter. The fundamental mode and one or more harmonic modes of the slot element may cover the satellite navigation and wireless local area network bands.

Abstract: A computer stylus may be provided that includes an elongated body with a tip and an opposing end coupled together by a shaft that includes a metal tube. The stylus may include a substrate at the end of the elongated body and conductive traces on the substrate. The traces may form a sensor electrode for a sensor and an antenna resonating element for an antenna in the stylus. The sensor may include an electrode that gathers sensor signals. Control circuitry may wirelessly transmit the sensor signals to external equipment using the antenna. The sensor electrode may be coupled to the metal tube by a filter. The filter may form an open circuit at radio-frequencies and a short circuit at the frequency of the sensor signals. The filter may mitigate deterioration in wireless performance of the antenna associated with the presence of the sensor.

One or more parameters pertaining to operation or conditions around the display are obtained. Using the obtained one or more parameters, scanning mode parameters used for sensing are set based at least in part on the obtained one or more parameters. Abstract: An electronic device may include a display having an array of display pixels and having display control circuitry that controls the operation of the display. The display control circuitry may adaptively adjust the display output based on ambient lighting conditions. For example, in cooler ambient lighting conditions such as those dominated by daylight, the display may display neutral colors using a relatively cool white. When the display is operated in warmer ambient lighting conditions such as those dominated by indoor light sources, the display may display neutral colors using a relatively warm white. Adapting to the ambient lighting conditions may ensure that the user does not perceive color shifts on the display as the user's vision chromatically adapts to different ambient lighting conditions. Adaptively adjusting images in this way can also have beneficial effects on the human circadian rhythm by displaying warmer colors in the evening.

Abstract: An electronic device may have first and second rear-facing displays, a front-facing display, a cover at a front side overlapping the front-facing display, and an antenna that radiates through the cover. The cover may have a three-dimensional curvature. The device may have an inner chassis and an outer chassis. The antenna may include a radiating element and a ground trace on a flexible printed circuit. To maximize wireless performance of the antenna, the ground trace may be electrically coupled to as much conductive material in the vicinity of the antenna as possible. For example, the ground trace may be grounded to conductive structures in the front-facing display via a conductive cavity for the antenna, may be grounded directly to the outer chassis using conductive screws, and/or may be grounded directly to the inner chassis using conductive screws.

Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile computing device may participate in the calibration of an output signal of a media device. This calibration process includes storing device-specific calibration data which is related to properties of a light sensor of the mobile device. The mobile device then detects of properties of light emitted by the display device during a presentation to obtain sensor values related to light emitted by the display device during the presentation. The calibration process may also ensure that the mobile device is proximate to the display device prior to obtaining the sensor values. The collected sensor values are adjusted using device-specific calibration data stored to the mobile device to normalize the sensor values relative to a baseline. These normalized sensor values are sent to the media device for use in adjusting the output signal based on the normalized sensor values.
