Abstract: A mobile electronic device includes a display having a pixel and processing circuitry separate from but communicatively coupled to the display. The processing circuitry prepares image data to send to the pixel and adjusts the image data to compensate for operational variations of the display based on feedback received from the display that describes a present operational behavior of the pixel. The mobile electronic device also includes additional electronic components that affect the present operational behavior of the pixel depending on present operational behavior of the additional electronic components.

Abstract: An electronic device comprises an electronic display having an active area having a pixel. The electronic device also comprises processing circuitry configured to receive image data to send to the pixel and adjust the image data to generate corrected image data based at least in part on a stored correction value for the pixel. The processing circuitry also is configured to generate a test data to send to the pixel subsequent to sending corrected image data to the pixel, wherein the test data is selected based upon a comparison of at least one aspect of the corrected image data with a threshold value.

Abstract: A display device may include a plurality of pixels configured to display image data on a display. The display device may also include a circuit that measures a first current associated with a light-emitting diode (LED) of a pixel of the plurality of pixels in response to the circuit receiving a first data voltage. The circuit may also measure a second current associated with the LED of the pixel of the plurality of pixels in response to the circuit receiving a second data voltage. The circuit may then determine a voltage associated with the LED based at least in part on the first current and the second current.

The device may also include driving circuitry that receives a data signal and causes light to emit from the light-emitting diode in response to the data signal. The photosensitive transistor may generate an electrical signal in response to light emitted from the light-emitting diode during the light emission.

Abstract: A display device may include a display having a pixels and a processor. The processor may receive image data, determine a digital offset value for a pixel based on a location of the pixel, such that the digital offset value compensates for one or more non-uniformity properties of the pixel. The processor may determine a scale factor associated with the pixel based on at least two of a luminance setting for the display, a driving mode of the display, and a gray level value for the pixel. The processor may then generate correction image data by applying the scale factor to the digital offset value, generate compensated image data based on the correction image data and the image data, and provide the compensated image data to the display.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to electronic devices with displays. A display may include an array of display pixels each having a drive transistor and an organic light-emitting diode. A pulse-width-modulated current may be provided to the organic light-emitting diode during each display frame to compensate for an on-bias compensation applied to the drive transistor between display frames. The pulse-width-modulated current may be provided with a pulse-width-modulation ratio that decreases over the course of each display frame. The decrease of the pulse-width-modulation ratio for each display frame may be determined based on a peak luminance for that display frame. The reduction in flicker provided by the pulse-width-modulated current may facilitate operation of the display with a reduced refresh rate, thereby reducing power consumption by the display.

Abstract: A wireless power system may have a wireless power transmitting device and a wireless power receiving device. The wireless power receiving device may have a display that operates at a frame rate. The wireless power transmitting device may transmit wireless power signals to the wireless power receiving device at an initial frequency. In response to receiving the wireless power signals or in response to a request sent by the wireless power transmitting device, the wireless power receiving device transmits information on the frame rate to the wireless power transmitting device. The wireless power transmitting device uses the initial frequency and the frame rate in determining a safe frequency to use in transmitting wireless signals to avoid or at least reduce interference with the display. The wireless power transmitting device then adjusts the wireless power transmission frequency from the initial frequency to the safe frequency.

Abstract: An electronic device includes processors that generate image data. The electronic device also includes an electronic display that displays the image data over a first frame duration by programming a first row of display pixels with the image data. The electronic display also displays the image data over the first frame duration by causing the first row of display pixels to emit light for an emission duration that is based at least in part on a first luminance of the image data. The electronic display further displays the image data over the first frame duration by resetting the first row of pixels at least two times before an end of the first frame duration.

Abstract: An apparatus receives current image frame data and data relating to at least one previous image frame for an electronic display. One or more parameters related to hysteresis of transistors in the electronic display are sensed. A correlation device, such as a look-up table, receives the sensed parameter or parameters and the data relating to one or more image frames, and uses this information, at least in part, to output an appropriate compensation signal for the current image frame data. The compensated current image frame data may then be supplied to the electronic display to reduce or eliminate the effects of hysteresis on the displayed image.
