Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for constructing a composite molding in which a support, a decorative part, and a foam coating are present, which comprises the following steps: 1. providing a mold with a sealable mold cavity, 2. providing a shaping support made from a material A, where A encompasses wood, metal, alloys, and thermoplastics, 3. providing a separable decorative part made from a material B, encompassing leather, textile, film or foil, paper, microfiber, or a combination of two or more of the materials mentioned, where the material has a frontal side which extends over a surface of the mold cavity, and an unencumbered reverse side, 4. placing the support into the mold, 5. spraying a coating made from foam-formers over the reverse side of the support, while the decorative part is in the mold cavity, 6. completing the reaction of the foam-formers, 7. closing the mold cavity and bringing the support sprayed with foam-formers into contact with the decorative part, and finally 8. demolding the composite molding.

Abstract: A pressure can containing a reaction product (I) for production of elastic foam, which is obtained by reacting isocyanate(s) with a mixture of (i) a polyether-polyol with a mol. wt. of 3000-10000 obtained by reacting a trifunctional starter with alkylene oxide, (ii) a polyester-diol with a mol. wt. of 1500-10000 and (iii) a polyester-diol with a mol. wt. of 300-1499. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a 1-component foam-in-can system based on (I); (b) a 2-component foam-in-can system based on (I) and another component containing isocyanate-reactive compound(s), catalyst and water; (c) a method for the production of elastic foam based on polyisocyanate-polyaddition products by releasing product (I) from a pressure can.

Abstract: A compact covering composition comprises isocyanate, a polyester polyalcohol having a functionality of 2-2.5 and molecular weight of 500-4,000 and a polyetherpolyalcohol having a functionality of 1.5-5 and molecular weight of 150-7,000. A compact covering composition (I) is based on a reaction mixture (II) containing (A) Isocyanate (B) a mixture of compounds that are reactive with (A) containing (B11) 50-90 wt.% of a polyester polyalcohol having an average functionality of 2-2.5 and a mol. wt. of 500-4,000 (B12) 0-20 wt.% of a difunctional chain extender (B13) 0-30 wt.% of a polyetherpolyalcohol having a functionality of 1.5-5 and a molecular weight of 150-7,000 (C) catalysts and/or (D) processing aids and/or additives. Independent claims are included for (i) a process for the production of compact coverings (I) by reaction of (II) in a mold (ii) molded articles (III) that contain a foamed polyisocyanate-polyaddition product and a skin comprising the covering (I) (iii) a process for the production of molded articles (III) by formation of a covering skin (I) in a mold and formation of a foamed polyisocyanate-polyaddition product in contact with the skin by reaction of a mixture comprising isocyanate, compounds that are reactive with isocyanate, propellent and optionally catalysts and processing aids and/or additives. (iv) seats, dashboards, consoles and coverings for the interior and exterior of automobiles.

Abstract: A filled polyol mixture (I) comprises (A) a difunctional polyether polyol (A1) and a trifunctional polyether polyol (A2) and (B) at least 25 wt.% of a particulate filler having a particle size of 60-100 microns. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a two component reactive resin system (II) comprising the polyol mixture (I) and at least one compound containing two groups that are reactive with OH groups; (ii) a laminated molded article (III) comprising at least 3 layers, whereby the second layer is prepared using (I) or (II); and (iii) a process for the production of a laminated article (III) by edge sealing a first molded article forming the first layer and a second molded article forming the third layer such that a 0.1-100 mm high cavity is formed between them having at least 2 openings whereby the reactive resin system (II) is injected via the first opening into the cavity to fill it.
