Abstract: A method for the preparation of tough elastic polyurethane integral foams with improved tear strength, extension at break and tensile strength, comprises reacting optionally modified organic polyisocyanates (A) with at least one high mol.wt. compound (B) containing two or more reactive hydrogen atoms and optionally with low mol.wt. chain extenders and/or cross-linking agents (C), in the presence of catalysts (D), optional propellants (E) and optional auxiliary agents and/or additives (F). At least one recycled polyol obtained by glycolysis of tough elastic polyurethane integral foam using glycidyl ethers is used as (B). Also claimed are tough elastic polyurethane integral foams prepared by the above method.

Abstract: Tough polyurethane integral foams having improved tear propagation resistance, elongation at break and tensile strength are produced by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one relatively high molecular weight compound containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and, if desired, c) low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of d) catalysts, e) if desired, blowing agents f) and also, if desired, further auxiliaries and/or additives, wherein the component b) used comprises at least one recycled polyol which is obtained by glycolysis of tough polyurethane integral foams using glycidyl ethers. The tough polyurethane integral foams produced by this process can be used as beer barrel cladding.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of polyisocyanurate foams with reduced thermal conductivity, comprises reacting optionally modified organic polyisocyanates (A) with at least one high mol.wt. compound (B) containing two or more reactive hydrogen atoms and optionally with low mol.wt. chain extenders and/or cross-linking agents (C), in the presence of catalysts (D), optional propellants (E) and optional auxiliary agents and/or additives (F). At least one recycled polyol obtained by glycolysis of polyisocyanurate foam using carrier polyols with a maximum OH content of 500 mg KOH/g and molar mass of at least 450 g/mole, is used as (B). Also claimed are polyisocyanurate foams prepared by the above method.

Abstract: Rigid polyurethane foam (I) is prepared by mixing (A) polyisocyanate and (B) a compound having at least 2 hydrogen atoms that react with isocyanate groups in the presence of (C) catalyst, (D) blowing agent and optionally (E) processing aids and/or additives, whereby (B) is a recycled polyol prepared by glycolysis of a polyurethane. Preferably the recycled polyol (B) is obtained by glycolysis of rigid polyurethane foam and is produced in the presence of mono and/or difunctional glycidyl ethers. The recycled polyol is used in an amount of 10-50 wt.% (w.r.t. components (B) and (C)).

Abstract: Un procedimiento para preparar polioles que contienen grupos isocianurato haciendo reaccionar PIR con compuestos que contienen hidroxilo, de cadena corta. La reaccion del PIR se lleva a cabo en presencia de polioles portadores que tienen un numero OH de cuando mucho 500 mg KOH/g y una masa molecular de cuando menos 450 g/mol. Los polioles que contienen grupos isocianurato preparados mediante este procedimiento pueden utilizarse para producir PUR y PIR.
