SOLUTION: (A) A composition containing one or more kinds of polyols is compounded with (B) to R are each independently H or a 1-6C alkyl; R and R are each independently a 1-4C alkylene), preferably 1,3-bis(2-isocyanatopropyl)benzene (TMXDI) is preferably used as the component B.

Abstract: La presente invencion se refiere a las espumas de poliisocianurato que tienen conductividad térmica reducida y se obtienen por la reaccion. a) poliisocianatos orgánicos y/o orgánicos modificados con b) por lo menos un compuesto de peso molecular relativamente elevado que contiene por lo menos 2 átomos de hidrogeno reactivo y, si se desea, c) extensores de cadena y/o reticuladores de peso molecular bajo. en presencia de d) catalizadores, e) si se desea, agentes de soplado f) y, si se desea, otros auxiliadores y/o aditivos, En donde el componente b) que se utiliza consiste por lo menos en un piliol reciclado que se obtiene por glucolisis de las espumas de poliisocianurato utilizando polioles portadores con un numero de OH de cuanto más 500 mg KOH/g y una masa molar de por lo menos 450 g/mol. Las espumas PIR producidas por este proceso pueden utilizarse para aislamiento térmico.

Abstract: The prodn. of isocyanurate gp.-contg. polyols (I) comprises reacting polyisocyanurates (II) with short-chain, OH gp.-contg. cpds. (III) in presence of carrier polyols (IV) with an OH number of not more than 500 mg KOH/g and a mol. wt. of at least 450. Also claimed are polyols (I) obtd. by this process. Pref. polyols (IV) are based on glycerol and/or trimethylolpropane. The ratio of (III):(IV) = (5-20):1, and the ratio of (III + IV):(II) = (1-5):1. The process comprises heating the mixt. of (III) and (IV) to 190-240 degrees C, adding (II), reducing the temp. by 10-40 degrees C and stirring for 1.5-3 hrs. at this temp. After reaction is complete, the mixt. is either (a) cooled to 50-150 degrees C, treated with not more than 5 wt% alkali or alkaline earth metal hydroxide and stirred for 0.5-1.5 hrs. at this temp. or (b) cooled to 100-160 degrees C, treated with not more than 10 wt% monofunctional glycidyl ether and stirred for 0.5-1.5 hrs. at this temp.

Las espumas rígidas integrales de poliuretano producidas por este proceso se utilizan como revestimiento de barril de cerveza.

Abstract: A method for the preparation of polyisocyanurate foams with reduced thermal conductivity, comprises reacting optionally modified organic polyisocyanates (A) with at least one high mol.wt. compound (B) containing two or more reactive hydrogen atoms and optionally with low mol.wt. chain extenders and/or cross-linking agents (C), in the presence of catalysts (D), optional propellants (E) and optional auxiliary agents and/or additives (F). At least one recycled polyol obtained by glycolysis of polyisocyanurate foam using carrier polyols with a maximum OH content of 500 mg KOH/g and molar mass of at least 450 g/mole, is used as (B). Also claimed are polyisocyanurate foams prepared by the above method.

Abstract: Polyisocyanurate foams having a reduced thermal conductivity are produced by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one relatively high molecular weight compound containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and, if desired c) low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of d) catalysts, e) if desired, blowing agents f) and, if desired, further auxiliaries and/or additives, wherein the component b) used comprises at least one recycled polyol which is obtained by glycolysis of polyisocyanurate foams using carrier polyols having an OH number of at most 500 mg KOH/g and a molar mass of at least 450 g/mol. The PIR foams produced by this process can be used for thermal insulation.
