Abstract: 3,5-Disubstituted 1,2,3,5-thiatriazolidin-4(2H)-one 1,1-dioxides of the formula I in which R denotes alkyl of up to 10 carbon atoms which is unsubstituted or substituted by methoxy or halogen and R denotes alkyl of up to 6 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl of 4 to 8 carbon atoms are prepared by reacting a suitable 2-halosulphonylcarbamoyl halide (II) with the corresponding hydrazine (III) according to the equation in the presence of alkali metal hydroxide solution, the reaction being carried out in one continuous step in the presence of an at least stoichiometric amount of alkali metal hydroxide solution on the one hand and an organic solvent which is not infinitely water-miscible on the other above -50 DEG C.
