Abstract:
4-benzoylisothiazoles have the general formula (1), in which the substituents have the following meanings: X stands for oxygen or sulphur; R1 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, optionally substituted alkoxycarbonyl, aryl, heterocyclyl or hetaryl; R2 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or cyclalkenyl, aryl, hetaryl or heterocyclyl; and R3 stands for a radical of general formulas (2a-d), in which n, A, B and the R?4, R5 and R6¿ substituents have the meanings given in claim 1. Also disclosed are the salts commonly used in agriculture of the 4-benzoylisothiazoles of general formula (1), a process for preparing the same and their use as herbicides.

4-benzoylisothiazoles have general formula (1), in which the substituents have the following meanings: X stands for oxygen or sulphur; R1 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, or for optionally substituted alkoxycarbonyl, aryl, heterocyclyl or hetaryl; R2 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, whereas these radicals may bear one or several halogen, alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl groups, or R2 stands for aryl, hetaryl or heterocyclyl; and R3 stands for alkyl, cycloalkyl or a radical of general formula (2), in which the substituents have the meanings indicated in claim 1. Also disclosed are the salts commonly used in agriculture of the 4-benzoylisothiazoles of general formula (1), a process for preparing the same and their use as herbicides.
Abstract:
2-aroylcyclohexandiones have general formula (I), in which X, Y stand for O or S; Ar stands for phenyl or heteroaryl with 1 to 4 substituents; or two adjacent carbon atoms of the phenyl or heteroaryl ring may also be bridged by a chain; R?1, R2, R3, R4¿ stand for hydrogen or C¿1?-C4-alkyl; R?5¿ stands for H, C¿1?-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl; R?6, R7¿ stand for C¿1?-C4-alkyl, benzyl or stand together for an optionally substituted ethylene or propylene chain. Also disclosed are the salts and esters of these compounds with acids, except for 2-(4-chloro-2-nitrobenzoyl)-5-dimethoxymethyl-5-methyl-cyclohexan-1,3-dione, and their use as herbicides and growth regulators.
