Abstract: Disclosed is a method for reducing nitrous oxide emission from soils comprising treating a plant growing on the respective soil and/or the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow and/or the seeds from which the plant grows with at least one (compound A) fungicide inhibitors of complex III at Qo site selected from the group consisting of: azoxystrobin, coumethoxystrobin, coumoxystrobin, dimoxystrobin, enestroburin, fenaminstrobin, fenoxystrobin (flufenoxystrobin), fluoxastrobin, kresoxim-methyl, metominostrobin, orysastrobin, picoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, pyrametostrobin, pyraoxystrobin, pyribencarb, triclopyricarb (chlorodincarb), trifloxystrobin, 2-[2-(2,5-dimethyl-phenoxymethyl)-phenyl]-3-methoxy-acrylic acid methyl ester and 2-(2-(3-(2,6- di-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-aliylidene-aminooxy-methyl)-phenyl)-2-methoxyimino-N-methyl-acetamide, and at least one ammonium- or urea-containing fertilizer (compound B) selected from the group consisting of: (B1) inorganic fertilizer: NPK fertilizer, ammonium nitrate, calcium ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate nitrate, ammonium sulfate and ammonium phosphate; (B2) organic fertilizer: liquid manure, semi-liquid manure, stable manure and straw manure, worm castings, compost, seaweed and guano; wherein the application of at least one compound (A) and at least one compound (B) is carried out with a time lag of at least 1 day.
