Abstract: Un proceso para la preparación de un catalizador para el uso en una reacción de conversión de hidrocarburo, dicho catalizador contiene una zeolita de titanio y material carbonáceo, el catalizador contiene dicho material carbonáceo en una cantidad de 0.01 a 0.5% en peso con base en el peso total de la zeolita de titanio contenida en el catalizador, el proceso comprende (i) preparar un catalizador que contiene la zeolita de titanio; (ii) depositar material carbonáceo sobre el catalizador de acuerdo con (i) en una cantidad de 0.01 a 0.5% en peso con base en el peso total de la zeolita de titanio contenida en el catalizador al poner en contacto dicho catalizador, antes de utilizar el catalizador en dicha reacción de conversión de hidrocarburo, con un fluido que contiene por lo menos una olefina en una atmósfera inerte a una temperatura en el rango de 100ºC a 500ºC, durante un tiempo en el rango de 1 a 72 h, para obtener el material carbonáceo que contiene catalizador, en el que en (ii), el catalizador no se pone en contacto con un gas que contiene oxígeno, en el que después de la etapa (ii), el catalizador se emplea directamente en la reacción de conversión de hidrocarburo, y en el que la zeolita de titanio tiene una estructura MFI, MEL, MWW, BEA o FER o una estructura mezclada de dos o más de los mismos.
