Abstract: A shaped rubber body with improved uniformity in terms of weight and/or physical properties is produced by extruding a rubber strip by a positive displacement extruding system that includes, as seen from an upstream side of the rubber strip, a screw extruder unit (11), a gear pump unit (12) and an extrusion head (13) unit with an extrusion nozzle, which are connected in series with each other. The rubber strip is fed to a rotating support (18) along a substantially straight passage extending from the screw extruder unit to the extrusion nozzle of the extrusion head unit, passed through a gap (16) defined between a pair of pressure rolls (14,15) and applied onto an outer surface of the support by one of the pressure rolls.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire including insert plies (35) in its sidewall portions, wherein said insert plies are formed on an outer peripheral side of a carcass band (31), said method comprising the steps, for forming a green tire, of radially outwardly expanding a widthwise center portion of a substantially cylindrical carcass band (31) having marginal portions to which bead rings (32) are attached, by moving the bead rings axially toward each other; forming the insert plies (35) by applying, on both side portions of the carcass band (31) separated from each other with the center portion therebetween, reinforcing cords (34) to extend approximately in parallel with the circumferential direction; and enhancing a degree of radial expansion of the carcass band (31) by further moving the bead rings (32) axially toward each other, so as to increase a tension of the reinforcing cords (34) and thereby bring an outer face of a resultant crown portion into contact with a belt and a tread for joining.

Abstract: In a member preassembly machine which can form a tire efficiently, a guide conveyer (18) is provided at the downstream side of an inner liner pull-out conveyer (16). Inner liner position sensors (20) are provided at the upstream side of the guide conveyer. A pair of guide conveyers (28) are provided at the downstream side of a sidewall pull-out conveyer (26). Two pair of sidewall position sensors (30) are provided at the upstream side of the pair of guide conveyers. An overall transport conveyer (24) is provided at the downstream side of both the guide conveyer for an inner liner and the guide conveyers for a pair of sidewalls. A press-adhering roller (32) and an ultrasonic cutter (34) are mounted on the overall transport conveyer. A forming drum (40) is provided near the end portion at the downstream side of the overall transport conveyer. The inner liner (12) and the sidewalls (14), which have been transported onto the overall transport conveyer and press-adhered integrally, can be wound around the forming drum simultaneously.

Abstract: Un procedimiento para fabricar un neumático que comprende una etapa de formación de un elemento de componente neumático específico enrollando en espiral una banda (5) de caucho en forma de cinta mientras se hace una parte (7) en solapamiento para aplicarla directa o indirectamente sobre una plataforma (2) de confección tal como un núcleo rígido o un tambor de confección de neumáticos, en el que una parte (8) escalonada de la parte en solapamiento expuesta a la superficie exterior del elemento de componente neumático se aplana a presión mediante un rodillo (4) de prensado que se dispone para orientarse hacia la plataforma de confección con un ángulo (a) de deslizamiento específico con respecto al sentido de extensión de la banda de caucho aplicada y que se calienta hasta una región de temperatura de plastificación para suavizar la superficie exterior del neumático, en el que la etapa de enrollamiento en espiral de la banda (5) de caucho para aplicarla sobre la plataforma (2) de confección y la etapa de aplanamiento mediante el rodillo (4) de prensado se realizan con una diferencia de tiempo específica entre las etapas, y en el que el rodillo (4) de prensado se inclina con respecto a la línea normal a la superficie de neumático hacia su sentido de movimiento para tener un ángulo (ß) de caída.
