    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a golf ball which shows stable flying performance by arranging dimples in such a manner that those arranged in a spherical equilateral triangle, and those arranged in adjacent equilateral triangles are in point symmetry with respect to the center point of a short side shared by the triangles, and causing some of dimples to intersect not a first imarginary large circular line but each of three second imaginary large circular lines at their centers. CONSTITUTION:Dimples are uniformly disposed on the surface of a ball 1 and, in this case, those dimples which are arranged in one spherical equilateral triangle I and those arranged in two other spherical equilateral triangles II, IV adjacent the triangle I at the two long sides 4a, 4b of the triangle I, are in line symmetry with respect to the long sides 4a, 4b shared by the triangles I, II, IV. Also, the dimples arranged in the triangle I and those arranged in a spherical equilateral triangle VII adjacent time triangle I, at the short side 5 the equilateral triangle I, are in point symmetry with respect to the middle 6 of the short side 5 shared by both of the triangles I, VII. In addition, to dimple intersects a first imaginary large circular line 2 but at least one dimple intersects each of second imaginary large circular lines 3, 3, 3 at the enter thereof.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obviate the generation of fluctuation in strength and rebounding property and to obtain stable flying performance by forming a core ball of a rubber compsn. compounded with the metal salt of an unsatd. fatty acid mixed with liquid polymer as a cocrosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:The metal salt of the unsatd. fatty acid, such as zinc methacrylate and zinc acrylate, is compounded as the cocrosslinking agent with the rubber compsn. in the state of previously mixing and dispersing the same with and in the liquid polymer, such as liquid polybutadiene, at the time of preparing the rubber compsn. of the solid golf ball. The decreasing of the dispersion amt. by splashing of the cocrosslinking agent during the kneading of the rubber compsn. and the sticking thereof to a kneading machine, such as rolls, is prevented as far as possible in this way and the cocrosslinking agent is uniformly and effectively dispersed without forming flocculated lumps. Such rubber compsn. is, therefore, vulcanized and molded, by which the uniform one-piece golf ball having no fluctuations or the core ball of the solid golf ball having the multilayered structure is formed. The solid golf ball which has the good hardness and rebounding property and exhibits the stable flying performance is stably produced without generating the fluctuation in the performance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the flying performance by forming the core ball of a golf ball from a rubber compound containing basic rubber, metal salt of unsaturated carboxylic acid, organic sulfur compound, and/or the metal containing organic sulfur compound. CONSTITUTION:A one-piece golf ball or the core ball of a multi-layered structure golf ball which is covered directly or through an intermediate layer by a covering material is formed with a rubber compound containing basic rubber metal salt of unsaturated carboxyl ic acid, organic sulfur compound and/or metal containing sulfur compound. As the basic rubber, 1, 4-polybutadiene rubber having cis-structure in 40% or more is used particularly preferably in point of view of high resiliency, extrusion workability, and high strength of a vulcanized rubber. Further, the metal salt of the unsaturated carboxylic acid is compounded as covalent bonding agent, and the zinc salt of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid is used preferably. Further, the compounding quantity of sulfur compound is preferably 0.05-2wt. parts for 100wt. parts of basic rubber, in particular 0.1-0.5wt.part. Thus, flying performance is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive reductions in noise and weight while maintaining suitability for printing, by forming a roll by using a rubber composition for an outer layer part and an inner layer part and using a resin for an intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:An outer layer 4 comprising a rubber composition comprises a thermoplastic polymer in an amount of 20-30pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of all rubber components, and has a tandelta of 0.15-0.30 and an ES of 200-450kg/cm . A resin used as an intermediate layer 5 has an elastic modulus of 20,000-150,000kg/cm . An inner layer 6 is constituted of a rubber composition, and has a tandelta of 0.20-0.60. The thicknesses of the outer layer 4, the intermediate layer 5 and the inner layer 6 are respectively 2-5mm, 5-15mm and 0.5-5mm, and the layers are concentrically provided on a metallic shaft 1 in a body, whereby reductions in weight of a platen roll and noise can be contrived while maintaining suitability for printing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition having low rolling resistance and heat-generation, and high breakage strength, by compounding a rubber composed mainly of an isoprene-butadiene random copolymer containing cis-1,4-bond with carbon black and a vulcanizing agent.
    CONSTITUTION: An isoprene-butadiene random copolymer containing ≥90% cis-1,4 bond, or a mixture of said copolymer and one or more other diene rubbers is used as a stock rubber, and is compounded with carbon black and a vulcanizing agent. The isoprene-butadiene random copolymer is the one having an isoprene-content of 40W95(wt)%, and its amount in the stock rubber is ≥20%. The other diene rubber is natural rubber, polyisoprene rubber or polybutadiene rubber (having a cis-bond content of ≥90%) and its amount in the stock rubber is ≥20%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To sort accurately golf balls while providing them having the same carry performance and durability as normal golf balls, by embedding a lump of specified vol.% aluminum or aluminum alloy in the center of the ball. CONSTITUTION:A lump 1 containing 1.5X10 -35vol.% aluminum or aluminum alloy is embedded in the center of a ball. If the lump 1 contains under 1.5X10 vol.% aluminum or aluminum alloy, satisfactory detecting sensitivity is not provided. On the other hand, if the lump contains over 35vol.% aluminum or aluminum alloy, the weight of the whole ball is sometimes too much heavy to fall within 45.93g of the standard of authorized ball. Such a ball is not preferable for a training ball. Further, it degrades a feeling in shot and the moment of inertia differs remarkably from that of ordinary golf balls so that the satisfactory carry performance is not obtained. The preferable vol.% of the aluminum or aluminum alloy in the lump is 0.01-0.5vol.%.
