Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize an easily manufacturable electrical memory equipment by forming a film which contains an organic charge mobile complex compound between electrodes facing each other. CONSTITUTION:A laminated object consisting of electrodes 31, 32 facing each other and a film 33 which contains an organic charge mobile complex compound and is applied on the surface of either electrode is used for a memory equipment. In order to store logical value, an L state, in the memory equipment, a write signal and a read signal are set in an H state and switches SW1-SW3 are turned ON. This applies a high voltage over the threshold value to the film 33 of the memory equipment, the film 33 is switched from a high resistance state to a low resistance state and the states are stored. On the other hand, when the stored state is read, the switch SW3 is turned ON by maintaining the write signal in the L state and by making the read signal in the H state. As a result, the electric potential of point A corresponding to the resistance state of the film 33 is read by an inverter circuit consisting of SW4 and resistances R2-R4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a captioned display device being bright while having a uniform discharge property ranging over a big area with little crosstalk by arranging the first and second electrode groups made of a linear electric wire so as to intersect on a substrate while enclosing conductive gas between the substrate and a transparent plate opposing to it for discharging at a selected intersection point of the first and second electrode groups. CONSTITUTION:Guiding grooves for housing electric wires to become the electrode groups in line and file are provided on the sides of a substrate made of acryl while the electrodes 2 in line and the electrodes 3 in file are made of a wire material of copper or the like being uniformely coated on their surfaces with a dielectric substance of polyamide or the like. On the substrate 1, the electrodes 3 in file are arranged so as to cross over the electrodes 2 in line for being formed in the shape of a matrix. Further on the substrate 1, the side wall 4 and an upper lid 5 are joined for forming a discharge space where mixed gas having Ne as the nucleus with a very small amount of added Ar or Xe is enclosed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain the simple and accurate input of coordinates by means of an ordinary pen or a finger by driving in time series a group of polarizing elements to which the light beams are supplied. CONSTITUTION:A pair of a polarizing element array 10X and a photoreceptor array 12X for input of X coordinates are set opposite to each other on the two counter sides of a rectangular frame. While a pair of polarizing array 10Y and a photoreceptor array 12Y for input of a Y axis are set opposite to each other on other two sides respectively. Then the laser beams are sent to the polarizing arrays 10X and 10Y for X and Y axes from laser diodes 14X and 14Y respectively. The elements X1-Xn and Y1-Ym forming both arrays 10X and 10Y are driven in time series. Thus it is possible to perform the simple and accurate input of coordinates by means of an ordinary pen or a finger.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To project automatically a video matching with illuminance in a room as a background video when television broadcast is not received by providing an illuminance detecting means and reading the prescribed video among plural stored videos. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is applied to a device, first a background mode is automatically selected, after which the operation is immediately shifted to a newly specified mode whenever a mode modification command is inputted through a keyboard 7. When the background mode is selected, a changeover switch 5 is switched to the joint of a connection point (b), and a large-scaled color CRT 1 is connected to an optical disk 4. Then data on peripheral illuminance measured by an illuminance sensor 2 is inputted to a CPU 3 as a digital signal once in five sec. The address of a video matched with each illuminance section is previously registered in the memory of the CPU 3, the address of the corresponding video is selected, and a control signal showing the address is inputted to the optical disk 4.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an image recording medium having a memory characteristic and high fashionability by grasping a thin colored porous material film between two sheets of substrates facing each other and filling a liquid crystal material exhibiting a thermooptic effect between the two substrates. CONSTITUTION:The substrates 1, 2 consisting of glass plates are provided and are held by an isocyanate adhesive agent coated with the porous film made of PP colored blue on the inside of the substrate 2. The liquid crystal which exhibits a smectic A phase at an ordinary temp. is filled between two sheets of such substrates, by which the image recording medium 5 is obtd. The medium 5 is fed by a belt 20 and the liquid crystal element 4 is heated up to an isotropic liquid phase by a heating lamp 6 in a heating process. About 20V/10mum electric field is impressed to the liquid crystal layer of the medium 5 fed by a belt 21 in an electric field impressing process using a corona charger 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method of recording an image by widening a temperature range in which an image can remain stored and improving the handleability of the recording medium, by heating a liquid crystal element comprising a specific liquid crystal enclosed between upper and lower substrates, giving a corona discharge and locally heating with a laser beam to write image information therein. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal 2 which exhibits a thermooptical effect and comprising a trans-4-substituted cyclohexanecarboxylic acid trans-4'(trans-4''-alkylcyclohexyl) cyclohexyl ester of the formula (wherein R and R' are each a 1-10C alkyl; and n is 1 or 2) as main component is enclosed between upper and lower substrates 1, 3 to obtain a liquid crystal element 4. The element 4 is transferred in the direction as indicated with an arrow by means of a belt 20, heated to an isotropic liquid phase with a power source 10 and a heating lamp 5. An electric field is applied to the element 4 with a corona discharging device 6 to make the image disdplaying face transparent. Image information is recorded by locally heating and clouding the element 4 by irradiation with a laser beam which has been emitted from a semiconductor laser 7, passed through a polygon mirror 8 and condensed with an f-o lens 9, thereby to cause the heated area to be different in optical density from the non-heated area.

Said liquid crystal contains a 4'-alkyl-4-fluorobiphenyl of the formula (wherein R is a 1-10C alkyl) such as 4'-pentyl-4-fluorobiphenyl or 4'-propyl-4-fluorobiphenyl.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible the preservation and rewriting of an image by sandwiching a porous material which is formed into a sheet-like thin film with a pair of flexible substrates and packing the pores of the porous material with a liquid crystal material exhibiting a thermooptic effect. CONSTITUTION:A PET sheet having 50mum film thickness is used as the flexible substrates 1 and 2. A 'Teflon(R)' porous body having 40mum film thickness, 1mum average pore size and 75% voids is used for the porous material 3 of the thin film. The liquid crystal which exhibits a smectic A phase at an ordinary temp. is packed into the pores of the material 3 by which an image recording medium 4 is obtd. The thin film consisting of the porous material having prefer ably 20-100mum film thickness, 0.1-1mum average pore size and 50-75% voids is adequate. A liquid crystal mixture composed of a nematic liquid crystal and cholesteric liquid crystal or a smectic liquid crystal having a nematic phase, etc. are used as the liquid crystal. A large area ratio of the recording medium is thus easily obtd. and the flexible recording medium is made obtainable by the integral formation with the flexible substrates.
