Abstract: A head-up display device comprises an image generator, a beam combiner having a light receiving plane tilted laterally for receiving a light from the image generator and diffracting the light, and a compensator arranged between the image generator and the beam combiner for receiving the light from the image generator by a light receiving plane thereof and directing the light to the beam combiner to correct an aberration created by the beam combiner. The compensator is arranged such that a normal line extending through a center of the light receiving plane thereof and a normal line extending through a center of the light receiving plane of the beam combiner are in an essentially common plane.

CONSTITUTION:As to the display device where two pieces of information, that is, the display information from the display element 1 and image information 8 positioned in a direction different from the display information are spatially superposed through a light transmissive luminous flux coupling element 3 and observed in the same visual field, the display element 1 is constituted of the liquid crystal display panel of the backlight system and the liquid crystal display panel is arranged to be inclined so that its normal may form the angle of polarization or an angle near it with an optical axis.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To satisfactorily perform the correction of aberration and to observe dis played information in a good state even in the case of applying on the surface of an asymmetrical glass substrate by disposing a 2nd beam deflecting member in an asymmetrical plane in a gravity direction against a plane formed of the center of a display device and the center of 1st and 2nd beam deflecting members. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd beam deflecting member 35 is disposed in the asymmetrical plane in the gravity direction against the plane formed of the center of the display device 9, the center of the 1st beam deflecting member 11 and the center of the 2nd beam deflecting member 35. For example, a luminous flux 1 having the wavelength of lambda0 from the display device 9 is made incident on the 1st beam deflecting member 11 at the angle of theta 1 and reflected and diffracted at the angle of theta 2 so as to become the luminous flux 2. The luminous flux 2 is made incident on the 2nd beam deflecting member 35 at the angle of theta 3 and reflected and diffracted at the angle of theta 4 so as to be guided to an observer 51 direction. Thus, the virtual image 49 of the displayed information displayed on the display device 9 is superposed on image information such as a scenery 101, etc., in front of the 2nd beam deflecting member 35, and then, both information is observed in a good state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain structure fully endurable to the pressure and enable easy enlargement in area by making a discharge substrate touch an upper plate of a container through a porous member. CONSTITUTION:Polyamido net of 10 mesh is piled as a porous member 9 on an electrode 12 of a substrate 2 and besides silicon rubber is sticked as an elastic material on the lower side of a substrate 1. The substrates laminated in this way are housed in a container 100 composed of an upper plate 13, a lower plate 14, and a side plate, and this container is filled with a xenon-helium mixed gas through a gas introduction port 8. An inner surface of the upper plate 13 disposed on the side of an observing surface of the container 100 is made to touch the substrate 2 through the porous member 9, and so the mixed gas enters the inside via throughholes. Therefore, distortion due to external pressure is absorbed into the elastic material 10, so that even a device of large metric size can be formed in structure fully endurable to force by atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a light source for writing on regions of plural different wavelengths by dividing/disposing either one of the first and second groups of electrodes into plural combinations and connecting them commonly with the other group of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A group of scanning electrodes 3 are divided/disposed into plural combinations and connected commonly with a group of signal electrodes 5. Namely, perpendiculars, which pass through respective cross points of both groups of electrodes and are at right angles to the group of scanning electrodes 3, are horizontally disposed 8 to 16 numbers/mm as a combination. The groups of scanning electrodes are formed in three combinations S1 to S3. Besides the group of signal electrodes 5 are connected commonly to these three combinations of the groups of the signal electrodes 5. Hence, a luminous part on regions of plural different wavelengths can be obtained and the device can be miniaturized.
