Abstract:
A dressing (1) comprising a main part (2) and a handle part. The main part (2) comprising an adhesive layer (13), a release liner (14) and a carrier layer (12) optionally covered by a protective layer (11). The handle part comprises at least one tab member (3, 4), said tab member being designed for use as a 'non touch' grip for applying the dressing (1) to the skin without touching the adhesive surface of the main part. The tab member (3, 4) comprises one or more layers (9) and has at least one layer in common with the main part (2) of the dressing. Further, the length of an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part is less than 20 % of the length of the periphery of the main part. Still further, the handle part (3, 4) may be provided with at least one additional layer (15). Finally, there may be provided at least one notch (5, 6) in an intermediate zone (7, 8) between the handle part (3, 4) and the main part (2) of the dressing (1) in order to facilitate removal of the tab member during or after applying the dressing.
Abstract:
A wound dressing comprising an adhesive layer having a skin-facing surface and a non-skin-facing surface, the non-skin-facing surface being provided with a backing layer, the dressing comprises a central portion comprising an absorbent adhesive, and an border portion surrounding the central portion, wherein the skin facing surface of edge portion of the adhesive layer is continuous and the skin facing surface of central portion is interrupted by interconnected cavities. The cavities provide a storage room and distribution center for wound exudates enabling the dressing to be applied to fast exuding wounds.
Abstract:
A layered product comprising an adhesive dressing allowing transfer of one or more elements, e.g. elements containing an active substance or a hydrogel, to the adhesive surface of the adhesive dressing immediately before the adhesive dressing is applied to the surface, e.g. the skin, of a living being.
Abstract:
A tab member (25), especially for use as a 'non-touch' grip for applying a dressing (21) comprising an adhesive layer (23) and optionally a release liner (24) to the skin without touching the adhesive layer (23). The tab member (25) comprises at least a first flap member (26) and a second flap member (27) being joined along one edge thereof so as to form a tab having a V-formed cross section substantially perpendicular to the line of conjunction. The combined thickness of the two flap members (26, 27) in the area of conjunction (28) is smaller than the thickness of a bended edge of the two flap members (26, 27). This is a particular advantage while a decrease of the thickness of the area of conjunciton (28) results in a decrease of the area of the adhesive (23) in front of the area of bending or conjunction (28), which may be subjected to air.
Abstract:
A breast pad (10), adapted to be in contact with the breast (not shown) of a lactating woman so as to absorb spontaneously exuded milk, comprises a first liquid pervious body-contacting member (1), a second liquid impervious member (4), and an absorbing member (3) between the first and second member. The breast pad has a geometry, which can be formed to fit discreetly over the female breast when the breast nipple is disposed within the pad so that at least more than 50 % of the projected area of the absorbent member is disposed beneath the breast nipple. Improved discretion and a relatively better absorbance capacity are achieved.
