    Abstract: A method implemented by a MS for controlling handover of the MS from a source cell of a source RAN operating in PS domain to a target cell of a target RAN operating in PS domain where the target RAN supports MOCN. The method includes receiving SI transmitted by a node of the source RAN. The SI includes a selected PLMN, LAC of the target cell, and RAC of the target cell. The MS executes handover to the target RAN. A target RAI is determined using the selected PLMN, LAC of the target cell, and RAC of the target cell from the SI transmitted by the node of the source RAN. The target RAI is compared to a registered RAI of the MS. The MS determines whether a RAU is needed in the target RAN based on the comparison of the target RAI to the registered RAI.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods a system and a module for operating a power converter module (1) the power converter module (1) comprises a voltage converter (4) an output circuitry (7) and a processing circuitry (8) operable for controlling the voltage converter (4). The peak output mode (15) involves determining (16) based on a maximum output voltage if the output voltage is allowed to increase. If allowed increasing (17) the output voltage and operating (18) the voltage converter (4) at maximum power dissipation as long as the status of the voltage converter (4) is acceptable and the second status signal is above said predetermined threshold value (19).

    Abstract: By employing an intelligent search order, a user equipment in a mobile communication system can shorten the time needed to find a cell/public land mobile network. After a first cell has been found, the equipment can determine which frequencies it will be worthwhile to search when another search is needed for a second cell. The equipment can thus avoid wasting time searching for cells in frequencies of a radio access technology that may not be valid when cells can be found in a most recently used group of frequencies of another radio access technology.

    Abstract: A mobile station decreases its transmit bit rate in response to a determination that its transmit power has exceeded an alarm-power threshold. The mobile station increases its bit rate in response to a determination that its transmit power is below a lower-power threshold. Lower-power threshold and alarm-power threshold delays can be employed to prevent ping-pong effects and avoid unnecessary throughput degradation. A dynamic lower-power threshold can be employed in which the mobile station estimates or predicts its transmit power if it were to increase its transmit bit rate and increases its transmit bit rate only if this can be performed without exceeding the alarm-power threshold.

    Abstract: A control circuit (210) operable to control the switching of switching elements in a switched mode power supply (200). The control circuit (210) comprises a switching control signal generator (220) operable to generate control signals for switching the switching elements such that the switched mode power supply converts an input voltage (V to an output voltage (V out). The control circuit (210) further comprises an operation mode setting module (260) which is operable to receive a signal (I) indicative of a current flowing to a load that is connected to an output of the switched mode power supply, and operable to cause the switching control signal generator (220) to generate the control signals so as to operate the switched mode power supply (200) in a continuous conduction mode or a pulse skipping mode in dependence upon the current. In the pulse skipping mode, the switching elements are turned OFF for at least one switching period of the switched mode power supply (200) but the switched mode power supply continues to supply power to the load. The operation mode setting module (260) is operable to monitor the signal (I) to determine whether the current exceeds a threshold, and is operable to control the switching control signal generator (220) to generate the control signals such that, when the current exceeds the threshold, the switched mode power supply (200) operates in the continuous conduction mode and, upon determining that the current has fallen to or below the threshold, operation of the switched mode power supply (200) is changed from the continuous conduction mode to the pulse skipping mode so that the pulse skipping mode is entered from the continuous conduction mode.
