    Abstract: A system network and method improving handovers, particularly for reducing the amount of inter-cellular transfer information stored in base station controllers or radio network controllers, is disclosed. Instead of storing routing information for every possible inter-cellular handover at each control node, signaling network technology is employed to effectuate communication of all relevant inter-cellular handover information between all of the control nodes, thereby coordinating routing information transference across a distributed system.

    Abstract: A radio access network portion of a telecommunications network (18) which serves a mobile station (MS) is connecting to a core network. The radio access network portion has plural base stations (BS) serving respective plural cells (C), as well as plural control nodes (RNCs). The control nodes include a first control node (RNC1) for controlling a first group of the plural base stations and a second control node (RNC2) for controlling a second group of the plural base stations. A multicell area (MCA) includes cells served by at least some of the first group of base stations and cells served by at least some of the second group of base stations. The radio access network portion of a telecommunications network further has a paging control node which stores information regarding the multicell area. To page the mobile station in the multicell area, the paging control node (1) sends paging messages to each of the base stations serving the multicell area controlled by the paging control node; and (2) sends a paging message to any other control nodes which control base stations serving cells in the multicell area. The paging control node determines to which base stations and other control node(s) it should send paging messages by consulting a paging table (100). Perferably the paging control node is one of the control nodes of radio access notwork. The paging control node is connected to the other control node(s) by an intercontrol node link (32) over which the paging message is sent.

    Abstract: métodos e arranjos em sistemas de comunicação sem fio. são descritos métodos e arranjos para trasmissão de informação de medição de um equipamento de usuário para uma entidade receptora, via nó de rede consistindo de um sistema de comunicação sem-fio. as formas de realização referem-se à função de registro de medição e imediata função de transmissão chamada testes de acionamento de minimização (mdt). o problema de transmitir medições em outra rat que não na rat em que as medições foram coletadas é resolvido por uma solução ue inclui a informação de medição coletada em uma primeira rat de uma mensagem que é remetida 36 para um nó de rede de uma segunda rat. o nó de rede então remete 37 a mensagem para uma entidade receptora, sem ter que decodificar o conteúdo real do registro de medição. isto é feito pela introdução do endereço ip da entidade receptora e/ou informação de endereço similar de um campo de endereço da mensagem e empregando-se uma estrutura de recipiente, em qye o registro da medição real, como transmitido pelo ue, é colocado. o recipiente não necessita ser integível pelo nó de rede e poderia ser de um formato de mensagem usado rat, em que ue coletou o registro de medição. assim não há necessidade de reformar os resultados da medição.
