    Abstract: The invention relates to methods and devices for supporting configuration of a measurement gap pattern for a user equipment (91) requiring measurement gaps for performing an inter-frequency measurement. A radio network node (81) receives an indication (85) from the user equipment (91) that the user equipment (91) is going to perform an inter-frequency measurement for positioning, which inter-frequency measurement requires measurement gaps. The radio network node (81) may determine a measurement gap pattern for performing the inter-frequency measurement and may signal, to the user equipment (91), information (86) to initiate use of the determined measurement gap pattern in the user equipment (91). Alternatively the user equipment (91) configures the measurement gap pattern itself based on a set of pre-defined rules.

    Abstract: A wireless terminal capable of operating in a discontinuous mode comprising and method for operating such wireless terminal facilitate measurements pertaining to position of the wireless terminal. The method includes receiving a message from the radio access network. The measurement request message is configured to indicate that measurements are to be performed by the wireless terminal on downlink signals transmitted by the base station or by the base station on downlink signals transmitted by the base station. The method further comprises, as a result of or after receiving the message, changing operation of the wireless terminal from a discontinuous mode to a modified mode to facilitate performance of the measurements. Relative to the discontinuous mode at least one of following are shortened or eliminated in the modified mode: (i) the non-reception periods, and (ii) the non-transmission periods. "Changing from a discontinuous mode... to a modified mode" includes one or more of: (1) changing mode of the wireless terminal (e.g., changing from a discontinuous mode [such as discontinuous reception (DRX) or discontinuous transmission (DTX)] to a continuous transmission mode); (2) changing from the discontinuous mode (a first discontinuous mode) to a modified discontinuous mode (a second discontinuous mode).

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of reducing service interruptions during handover of a mobile device in a wireless network. The method comprises determining, under control of a processor, a time offset associated with a random access opportunity, and also determining, under control of a processor, a start time at a mobility management entity for executing handover of the mobile device based on the time offset. A handover message is sent including the determined start time from the mobility management entity to the mobile device to instruct the mobile device to execute handover at the determined start time. A second handover message is sent from the mobility management entity to the mobile device at the determined start time to instruct the mobile device to execute handover upon receipt of the handover message.
