Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a device which can be easily and accurately made and altered in wavelength setting by a method wherein incident angles of both excited light of a light parametric oscillator and oscillating light of a harmonics generator are rendered to be coincident with set angles stored in memory respectively by controlling a driving means. CONSTITUTION:A parametric oscillator 21, a harmonics generator 22, a driving means 46 changing incident angle of excited light 23 incident on a nonlinear optical crystal 28 of the oscillator 21, a driving means 47 changing incident angle of oscillating light 31 incident on a non-linear optical crystal 34 of the harmonics generator 22, an angle detection circuit 41 detecting incident angle of the excited light 23, an angle detection circuit 42 detecting incident angle of oscillating light 31, a memory 43 storing incident angles of the excited light 23 and the oscillating light 31 corresponding to plural wavelengths as setting values, a wavelength selection circuit 44, and a computing control means 45 controlling the drive means 46 and 47 on the computed output obtained in such way wherein an incident angle corresponding to a selecting signal acquired from the circuit 44, which is compared with a detected incident angle and computed so as to output the computed result, are provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an optical axis from being sheared by providing the mirror to correct the shear of the optical axis generated at the time of turning a non- linear optical crystal face and moving the mirror. CONSTITUTION:A signal for obtaining a projecting laser beams with an objective wavelength lambda is inputted from an input terminal 25 to a CPU 23. The CPU 23 rotates the non-linear optical crystal 6 by a prescribed angle theta through a driving circuit 21 and a crystal driving part 12. Since the wavelength of the projecting laser beam is changed, the optical axis 13 is moved in parallel by a prescribed distance (d). Simultaneously, a signal corresponding to the parallel moving distance (d) is set from the CPU 23 to a driving circuit 22 in a mirror driving device 18 to rotate a mirror driving part 19. Since the mirror 14 is moved by the rotation and the moving distance (d) is corrected, an optical axis 26 after diffraction based upon the mirror 14 is always allowed to coincide. An optical axis 27 parallel with the optical axis 10 of the incident laser beam is obtained by reflecting the optical axis 26 by a mirror 20.

CONSTITUTION:A variable-wavelength laser device 11 which changes wavelength of laser beam 13a emitted therefrom by changing a relative incident angle for crystal surface of laser beam 13 incident to nonlinear optical crystal 16 is provided with a half-mirror 21 for branching the laser beam 13 incident to the nonlinear optical crystal 15, a power density detector 31 for detecting power density of branched laser beam 13, a comparator 33 for comparing a detected value of power density detector 31 with the present value and a light shielding mechanism 20 for shielding the laser beam 13 incident to the nonlinear optical crystal 16 based on an output of the comparator 33. The light shielding mechanism 20 is structured, for example, a shutter 26 adjacent to the optical axis of laser beam 13, a solenoid 30 to drive the shutter and a solenoid drive circuit 23 to drive the solenoid 30 based on an output of comparator 33.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a focal distance-variable lens having a wide focal distance-variable range and reduced at the whole size by constituting the lens of a plate-like body made of a transmissive dielectric material refracting incident light in accordance with the space distribution of refractive indexes to be changed by temperature change and having an optional focal distance, a heat generating body and a temperature control part.
CONSTITUTION: The plate-like body 1 is obtained by working the transmissive dielectric material changing its refractive index due to the temperature change and the heat generating body 2 is a heating electrode wound around the peripheral side of the body 1 and has a heat generating part in its inside. When power is supplied from a power source 4 to the heat generating body 2 through a lead wire 3 to heat the peripheral side of the body 1, the distribution of the refractive indexes is approximately generated from the heat generating part of the body 2 in the center direction of the body 1. When the temperature of the heat generating part is changed by adjusting power applied to the body 2, the distribution of the refractive indexes of the body 1 is changed, so that the focal distance is changed. Consequently, the focal distance- variable range can be expanded and the lens can vary the focal distance in a wide wavelength range from an ultraviolet area to an infrared area.

The said light parametric oscillator 10 and the said secondary harmonic generator 11 are, for example, rendered to control incident angle of the excited light 12 or the oscillating light 20 incident on the crystals 16 or 23 by rotating the crystals 16 or 23 respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a laser whose wavelength can be varied in a wide band by providing a rotator which is conposed of 1st rotating part which turns a crystal for a light wavelength converter (2nd harmonic generator) in a plane parallel to a light axis and 2nd rotating part which turns the crystal in a olane vertical to the light axis. CONSTITUTION:An ordinary light (o-component) of the output light of optical parametric oscillator (OPO) 1 is applied to a 2nd harmonic generator (SHG) 2 and a SHG crystal 9 is turned in a plane parallel to a light axis 10 by the 1st rotating part 16 of a rotator 18. If the rotation angle (theta) is varied within the range of 90-50 degrees, an output wavelength is varied as shown by a characteristic curve (C). Then, if the motor 27 of the 2nd rotating part 17 of the rotator 18 is turned 360 degrees, an index table 23 is turned 90 degrees with the light axis 10 as a center of turning by a parallel index cam 24. Then, an e-component, which is an extraordinary light for the SHG crystal 9, is turned into an ordinary light. In this state, the SHG crystal 9 is turned by the motor 20 of the 1st rotating part 16 for phase matching and the wavelength conversion is applied to the ordinary light component of the SHG output as shown by a characteristic curve (D). As a result, even if the rotation range is 90-50 degrees, a laser whose wavelength can be varied over the whole range of 250-1230 nm can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain power density of a laser incident at a crystal at an optimum value by providing some of plural lenses with driving devices for reducing and enlarging a beam diameter of optional magnification by regulating a lens position. CONSTITUTION:The first and second lenses 11 and 12 of the first, second and third lenses 11, 12 and 13 are provided lens driving devices 14 and 15 respectively for positional shifting. The distance from the back face of the first lens 11 to the front face of the lens 12 shall be L1 and the distance from the rear face of the second lens 12 to the rear face of the third lens 13 shall be L2. Magnification can be changed by shifting at least either of the first and second lenses 11 and 12, shifting is so performed that the distance between L1 and L2 may have a prescribed relation lest a projected beam from the third lens 13 should diverge, converge and damage a crystal. Thereby, magnification of the beam diameter can be optionally regulated so as to easily regulate it to the optimum condition even if an output beam diameter, power and pulse width are changed according to the kind of laser, solid difference and change with the lapse of time.
