Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., non-transitory physical storage media) to provide trust topology selection for distributed transaction processing in computing environments are disclosed herein. Example distributed transaction processing nodes disclosed herein include a distributed transaction application to process a transaction in a computing environment based on at least one of a centralized trust topology or a diffuse trust topology. Disclosed example distributed transaction processing nodes also include a trusted execution environment to protect first data associated with a centralized trust topology and to protect second data associated with a diffuse trust topology. Disclosed example distributed transaction processing nodes further include a trust topology selector to selectively configure the distributed transaction application to use the at least one of the centralized trust topology or the diffuse trust topology to process the transaction.

Abstract: A sequence mining platform (SMP) comprises a processor, at least one machine-accessible storage medium responsive to the processor, and a sequence manager in the machine-accessible storage medium. The sequence manager is configured to use processing resources to determine a sequence of nucleobases in a nucleic acid. The storage medium also comprises a blockchain manager to (a) collect transaction data for one or more transactions for a blockchain which requires a proof of work (POW) for each new block; and (b) include at least some of the transaction data in a new block for the blockchain. The storage medium also comprises a sequence mining module (SMM) to use the determined sequence of nucleobases from the sequence manager to create a POW for the new block. In one embodiment, the SMM enables an entity which controls the SMP to receive transaction rewards and sequencing rewards. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: An automated method for distributed and redundant firmware evaluation involves using a first interface that is provided by system firmware of a client device to obtain, at an evaluation server, a first firmware resource table (FRT) from the client device. The evaluation server also uses a second interface that is provided by a component of the client device other than the system firmware to obtain a second FRT from the client device. The evaluation server automatically uses the first and second FRTs to identify a trustworthy FRT among the first and second FRTs. The evaluation server automatically uses the trustworthy FRT to determine whether the client device should be updated. For instance, the evaluation server may automatically use the trustworthy FRT to determine whether firmware in the client device should be updated. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Technologies for secure content display include a computing device having a display controller and a display. The display includes a self-refresh frame buffer. The computing device establishes a secure, attested communication session between the display controller and the display device. Attestation may be performed using an enhanced privacy identifier key provisioned to the display controller and/or the display by the corresponding manufacturer. The display controller may transmit protected content from a protected audio/video path to the display over the secure communication session. The display controller may transmit a command to the display to disable read back of the self-refresh frame buffer. The display controller may transmit a command to the display to clear the frame buffer. The display controller may transmit a predefined image frame from secure storage to the display. The predefined image frame may be an advertisement or user-defined content. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    Firmware-related event notification

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to firmware-related event notification. A device may comprise an operating system (OS) configured to operate on a platform. During initialization of the device a firmware module in the platform may load at least one globally unique identifier (GUID) into a firmware configuration table. When the platform notifies the OS, the firmware module may load at least one GUID into a platform notification table and may set a platform notification bit in a platform notification table status field. Upon detecting the notification, an OS management module may establish a source of the notification by querying the platform notification table. The platform notification bit may cause the OS management module to compare GUIDs in the platform notification table and the firmware configuration table. Services may be called based on any matching GUIDs. If no GUIDs match, the services may be called based on firmware variables in the device.
