Abstract: A detection device includes a substrate, a plurality of drive electrodes disposed at the substrate, each extending in a first direction, and arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and a plurality of detection electrodes opposed to the drive electrodes, each extending in the second direction, and arranged in the first direction. Each of the drive electrodes and the detection electrodes has a plurality of superimposed portions and a connecting portion connecting the superimposed portions, one of the superimposed portions of one of the drive electrodes and one of the superimposed portions of one of the detection electrodes are superimposed over each other and extend linearly in a same direction, and in a planar view from a direction perpendicular to the substrate, some of the superimposed portions and some of the connection portions form a first closed region closed annularly.
