    Abstract: Provided are a fingerprint detection device and a display device that can reduce the occurrence of unintended patterns. The fingerprint detection device has a plurality of drive electrodes and a plurality of detection electrodes. The detection electrodes have a plurality of first line parts, a plurality of second line parts extending in a direction crossing the first line parts, and bent parts coupling the first line parts and the second line parts to each other. The drive electrodes have a plurality of electrodes arranged spaced apart from each other in a plan view, connecting parts coupling the electrodes adjacent to each other in the second direction to each other, and dummy electrodes in a floating state, each of the dummy electrodes being arranged between two electrodes arranged in the first direction between two detection electrodes.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, a first wiring board mounted on the display panel, and a backlight unit located on a back surface side of the display panel to illuminate the display panel. The backlight unit includes a casing which includes a bottom plate including a first slit and a side plate standing at the bottom plate, and a light guide arranged in the casing. The first wiring board passes between the side plate and the light guide and through the first slit and is bent toward a back surface side of the casing.

    Abstract: Detection electrode wirings formed by an ITO film have a high resistance and the detection capability thereof is degraded with the increase of the size and/or resolution. A manufacturing method of a display device includes: (a) arranging liquid crystal between an array substrate and a counter substrate; (b) forming a metal layer and a low-reflection layer on the counter substrate after the step (a); (c) applying an overcoat film onto the metal layer and the low-reflection layer; and (d) curing the overcoat film to form a protection layer. The step (d) cures the overcoat film with light and heat.
