Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hair cosmetic comprising the combination of a specific polyalkylene monoalkyl ether and a natural film-forming polymer or its derivative, free from stickness, stiffness, etc., giving good touch, tension and toughness, and preventing the damage of hair. The compound of the formula includes diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monopropyl ether, and diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether. The film-forming polymer includes xanthane gum, gum arabic, dextran, keratin, its derivative, and starch. The hair cosmetic is excellent in usableness, imparts tension, toughness and good combing ability to hairs, excellent in effects for preventing the generation of split hair and cut hair, etc., and improves the collectability of hairs.
