Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title low irritable cosmetic good in spreadability when applied, little in oily feeling, excellent in smooth feeling, and good in emulsion stability, containing polyethylene glycol, fatty oil, and nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic containing (A) 0.01-5wt.% of polyethylene glycol >=500000 in average molecular weight, (B) 0.1-30wt.% of a fatty oil (e.g. cetyl alcohol), and (C) 0.1-30wt.% of a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene alkyl ether). Besides these ingredients, the present cosmetic is incorporated, appropriately with conventional ingredients. This cosmetic is suitable as such a type as to be used through application and rinsing after shampooing (e.g. hair rinse, hair conditioner, hair treatment).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic free from stickiness, exhibiting excellent conditioning effect, having sustained action and effective in preventing the splitting of the hair by combining a specific triol with a polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair cosmetic is produced by combining a triol of formula I (R is 6-31C methyl-branched alkyl) with a polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether of formula II (R is H or methyl; R is 1-5C alkyl; (m) is 2-6) or further combining with a cationic surfactant and an oil and fat. A triol of formula I wherein R is group of formula III ((n) is 1-3) is preferable. Especially preferable triol is 3,7,11,15-tetramethyl-1,2,3-trihydroxyhexadecane, etc. The compound of formula II is preferably diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, etc. Preferably, the cosmetic is produced by compounding 0.1-5.0wt.% of the compound of formula I, 2.0-10.0wt.% of the compound of formula II, 0.5-15.0wt.% of the surfactant and 1-10.0wt.% of oil and fat.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic containing N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl-fatty acid amide excellent as a humidity-retaining ingredient, having good extensible property when applied, free from stickiness, capable of providing refreshing using feeling and having good stability of emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The aimed cosmetic containing one or two or more kinds of N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl-fatty acid amides expressed by formula II (R1 is 7-27C branched chain alkyl or alkenyl) such as a compound expressed by formula I (m and n are 0-16, provided that m+n=10-16) and having excellent humidity-retaining action. The above-mentioned compound expressed by formula II is a lammellar liquid crystal at ambient temperature and exhibits excellent compatibility with almost solvents and has characteristic capable of nearly uniformly dispersing when mixed with water. When the above-mentioned compound is blended with an emulsified cosmetic, the compound provides good humidity retaining property to the cosmetic and further distributes to stabilization of emulsion and the resultant cosmetic spreads uniform area of high-melting active ingredient and has good extensible property when applied and is free from stickiness and provides refreshing using feeling.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent hair cosmetic by combining a mono- or a di-long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant with a cholesterol derivative and a specific polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether. CONSTITUTION:The hair cosmetic is obtained by combining (A) a mono- or a di-long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant with (B) a cholesterol derivative and (C) a polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether expressed by formula I [R is H or methyl; R is 1-5C alkyl; (m) is 3-6]. Quaternary ammonium salts, etc., expressed by formula II (at least one of R to R is alkoxy, alkenyloxy, etc.; the rest are benzyl, alkyl, etc.; X 1 is halide ion or organic anion) are cited as the surfactant. The ingredients are preferably blended in the following amounts in the composition: 0.5-15.0wt.% ingredient (A), 0.2-2.0wt.% ingredient (B) and 1.0-20.0wt.% ingredient (C). This cosmetic is excellent in conditioning effects without any stickiness and oiliness.
