    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic which can prevent or care hair damage by UV rays such as dry, loose hairs or discoloration by combining a water- insoluble, nonvolatile silicones with a specific triazine derivative. CONSTITUTION:Water-insoluble, nonvolatile silicones are combined with a triazine derivative of formula I (R is 6 to 12C alkyl), or further, a UV rays absorber such as octyl methoxy-cinnamate, benzophenone and benzophenone derivatives. Particularly, as the water-insoluble, nonvolatile silicone, are cited dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane, polyether-modified silicones, amino-modified silicones, alkyl-modified silicones and alkoxy-modified silicones. Among them, a compound of formula II (R is 1 to 4C alkyl; a is O to 35, b is 1 to 45; c is 0 to 1,000) can be cited as a polyether-modified silicone.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic effective for imparting hair with excellent softness as well as moist feeling and smoothness by combining a beta- hydroxymonosulfonic acid or its salt with an alpha-hydroxymonocarboxylic acid or its salt. CONSTITUTION:This hair cosmetic is produced by compounding a beta- hydroxymonosulfonic acid of formula I (R is H or 1-3C alkyl; X is H, metal atom or onium; R and X are not H at the same time) or its salt in combination with an alpha-hydroxymonocarboxylic acid of formula II (R is H or 1-4C alkyl) or its salt. The hair cosmetic exhibits excellent frothing property in shampooing, gives hair having durable softness and keeps especially stiff hair to soft state. Furthermore, it has excellent hair-collecting property. The compound of formula I is e.g. sodium isethionate and the compound of formula II is e.g. lactic acid or its salt. The hair cosmetic is preferably further incorporated with a surfactant and/or oil and fat.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent hair cosmetic by blending specific amounts of a mono- or di-long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant with a cholesterol derivative and a specific dialkylene glycol monoalkyl ether. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair cosmetic is obtained by combining (A) 0.1-20.0wt.% mono- or di-long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant with (B) 0.1-10.0wt.% cholesterol derivative (especially a cholesteryl ester of a branched fatty acid, etc.) and (C) 0.5-30.0wt.% dialkylene glycol monoalkyl ether of formula I (R1 is H or methyl; R is 1-5C alkyl) (especially diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, etc.). A quaternary ammonium salt of formula II (at least one of R to R is alkyl, etc.; the rest are alkyl or hydroxyalkyl) is preferred as the surfactant. This hair cosmetic is capable of imparting good touch to the hair, preventing the hair from damaging and the scalp from whitening and exhibiting inhibiting effects on dandruff.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a low-irritant washing agent composition exhibiting high cleaning property against the stain of make-up and sebum, by using a nonionic surfactant having a specific HLB value and an anionic surfactant such as an N-acylglutamic acid surfactant gas essential components. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains (A) a nonionic surfactant of formula I (R1 is 4-30C branched-chain hydrocarbon group; x is 0-30; y is 0-30) and having an HLB of 3-8 and (B) an anionic surfactant selected from a surfactant of formula II (R2 is 7-21C alkyl or alkenyl; M1 and M2 are H, alkali metal, etc.), an isethionate-type surfactant of formula III (R3 is 7-21C alkyl or alkenyl; M is H, alkali metal, etc.) and a sulfosuccinic acid-type surfactant of formula IV. The weight ratio of A:B is 1:9-9:1 and the sum of the components A and B is 10-90wt.%. The composition gives moisture to the skin in spite of its high detergency.
