Abstract: The invention relates to a method of and an arrangement for damping a wall movement. In the invention, the strength of an electric field between a surface of a wall and an air-permeable mass plate parallel with the surface is controlled to provide a force opposite to the wall-moving force. A sound wave, for instance, may cause a force moving a wall back and forth, which force is cancelled by the opposite force by means of the method and arrangement of the invention, whereby the movement applied to the wall by the sound wave can be stopped.

Abstract: Extrusion products such as cables, pipes, blown films etc. consisting of several material layers are generally manufactured using multilayer nozzles in which the masses are divided into several flow components, which are then merged again to produce a tubular structure. The problem with this method is that seams and stripes tend to appear where the flow components were merged. In the extrusion method of the invention, the flowing masses are homogenized by means of rotors revolving between plates placed on top of each other, the plastic masses being introduced into the rotor spaces from the rotor peripheries and passed to the circular inner edges of the rotors, from where they proceed in a tubular flow into the nozzles. The materials used in the manufacturing process, such as plastics, colours, foaming agents, gases, vulcanizing agents and other chemicals, are applied to the rotor peripheries and mixed by the rotation of the rotors, the result being a homogenous mixture and a tubular product of uniform quality.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a dielectric film for converting the energy of an electric field or of a magnetic field into mechanical work, orfor converting mechanical work into electric energy, and a procedure for manufacturing the film. The film of the invention consists of a homogeneous, e.g. a film layer (A) foamed to a structure (C) of full-cell type and which has been oriented by stretching it in two dimensions and coated at least in part on one side or on both sides with an electrically conductive layer (B). The film is manufactured by extruding the plastic which has been made to be foams able, into tubular shape, performing intermediate cooling of the tube and reheating it, expanding the heated tube in two dimensions, metallizing the outer surfaces and cutting the tube open to become a film.
