    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a molded solidified object availably utilized as an aggregate material, by a method wherein a combustible substance is added to coal ash according to necessity to mold the same into a desired shape and the molded coal ash is sintered by subjecting the same to self-combustion in a shaft type fluidized layer. CONSTITUTION:Coal ash containing a small amount of C collected by the electric dust collector of a coal steam power plant is kneaded with about 15% to coal ash of a liquid prepared, for example, by mixing a pulp waste liquor 2 and water 3 in a ratio of about 1:3 as a granulating binder in a granulator 4 to be granulated. The obtained granule is sent to the top part 5 of a shaft type furnace and contacted with a rising gas while moved downwardly to be subjected to self-combustion. The granule is sintered and cooled while passed through a drying zone 6, a sintering zone 7 and a cooling zone 8. The obtained sintered granule is discharged out of the furnace by an ore discharge machine 9 and classified according to a particle size by a screen 10 to obtain a product 1. When coal ash is low in the C content and lacks in self-combustion force, a combustible substance such as fine powdery coal or waste plastics is added to coal ash.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a burnt caked body wherein harmful heavy metal is fixed in a stable state by rethrowing inorganic materials such as glass separated from an incineration residue of municipal refuse together with municipal refuse. CONSTITUTION:Metal and incombustibles are removed from an incineration residue produced at a manicipal refuse incinerating plant to obtain inorganic mateials consisting essentially of waste glass and soil and stones. The inorganic materials are crushed or formed. This, formed body is rethrown in an incinerator together with municipal refuse to be burnt. After the burning, a burnt body and other residues are separated from the mixture of the burnt body and residue to obtain a burnt caked body. In this caked body, harmful heavy metal is fixed in a stable state.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the cycle time of occlusion/discharge of hydrogen gas and to improve its heat transfer performance by providing a plurality of columnar alloy storage sections for hydrogen occlusion with relatively small cross sections on a metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen gas passage 21 is connected to one end of a plurality of columnar alloy storage sections 20 for hydrogen occlusion of a storage container 1''. The alloy storage sections 20 are formed by laminating two metallic plates 23 formed with groove sections 23a approximately in parallel at a proper distance so that individual groove sections 23a face each other to form nearly circular cross sections. Accordingly, a heat transfer medium is introduced through a cylinder 32a and is discharged through a cylinder 31, on the other hand, hydrogen is introduced and discharged through a hydrogen gas inlet nozzle 21e and individual hydrogen gas passages 21, thereby occlusion and discharge of hydrogen gas can be performed uniformly in all alloy storage sections 20.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to control the titled dust generating speed under a same amount of a gas, by a method wherein a particulate material and fine particles on a dispersing plate are fluidized by a gas and only fine particles are generated from a fluidized layer as well as the generating speed thereof is controlled by electric force. CONSTITUTION:A particulate material and fine particles having a particle size considerably larger than that of the former are accumulated on a dispersing plate 1 provided to the bottom part of a fluidized layer type dust generating apparatus and a gas is blown thereinto from the lower part of the dispersing plate 1 as shown by an arrow G to from a fluidized layer 3. In this case, only fine particles are flied out to generate fluidized layer dust. On the other hand, high voltage is applied between a discharge electrode 4 provided to the inside of the fluidized layer type dust generating apparatus and an earth electrode 5 of the outer periphery thereof. When said high voltage is applied, fine particles flied out from the fluidized layer 3 are accompanied between the electrodes 4, 5 by the gas and, while carried as generated dust as shown by an arrow D, collected to the electrode by electric force. Therefore, by appropriately controlling the applied voltage, the generation concn. of the fluidized layer dust can be varied.
