Abstract: PURPOSE:To treat the waste water in processing of marine products easily through flotation of microsuspended matter and oil which are difficult to filter by installing the coconut shell fiber moldings adhered and fixed by using adhesive contg. high polymer flocculating agent in said waste water and passing air bubbles therethrough. CONSTITUTION:Coconut shell fibers are beforehand molded into a mat or cylindrical shape, and a soln. contg. water-based emulsion type adhesive such as natural rubber latex or styrene-butadiene latex contg. cationic high polymer flocculating agent of polyacrylamide type or the like is sprayed thereon or the moldings are dipped in said soln., whereby the coconut shell fiber moldings are adhered and fixed. If the waste water in processing of marine products is put into a vessel fixed with such moldings and air is introduced from the bottom of the vessel, the flocculating agents in the moldings dissolve in the waste water and the suspended matter and contaminants flocculate and float. According to this method, the formation of sludge is obviated and the waste water in processing of marine products is treated easily by the simple operation of removing the scum on the water surface.
