    Abstract: PURPOSE:To regenerate waste liquid easily and inexpensively by immersing net-like bodies stuck with a cation type flocculating agent into waste liquid of alkali degreasing and blowing air thereinto. CONSTITUTION:Net-like bodies are formed by using fine wire rods. The net-like bodies are preferably of three-dimensional structure and are preferably knitted by techniques used for knitting stockings and sweaters. It is preferable to maintain the sizes of meshes in a 0.2-0.1mm. range and voids in a 90-98% range. A cation type flocculating agent is stuck on the surfaces of such net-like bodies. Here, the use of the polyacrylic amide of 500,000-5,000,000mol.wts. modified by cation is preferable. The regenerating material formed by sticking the cation type flocculating agent on the surfaces of the net-like bodies is immersed in the waste liquid of alkali degreasing and the gas is blown thereinto.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an oil adsorbent based on a combustible natural fiber with superior oil adsorbing and water repelling properties by mixing bombacaceous cotton with a heat melting synthetic polymer and heating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Bombacaceous cotton, esp. hydrophobic kapok fiber with a superior oil adsorbing property and a bulk specific gravity of about 0.05 is disintegrated. 100pts.wt. of the disintegrated kapok fiber is mixed with 5-100, esp. 20-40pts.wt. of a heat melting synthetic polymer fiber, esp. fibrous PE to obtain a uniformly mixed fleely substance. The substance is then set to a thickness necessary for an adsorbent, heat treated usually at 130-250 deg.C, and cut into a proper size or reeled. The resulting kapok fiber adsorbent has superior dimensional stability and enough strength.
