Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a combine harvester assembly, responsive to a field ranging from a large plot to a small-scale one and capable of efficiently performing operations and simultaneously enable the good travel of connected two combine harvesters at the field by effectively utilizing the two relatively small-sized or medium-sized combine harvesters usable at the field in a small plot at a good operating efficiency. CONSTITUTION:This combine harvester assembly is obtained by mechanically connecting two combine harvesters (A) and (B) capable of individually performing operations and traveling in a parallel state, linking a maneuvering and controlling mechanism to a controlling mechanism of a controlling element for operations of each combine harvester with a linking means so as to enable the maneuvering of both the combine harvesters (A) and (B) under a command from the maneuvering part of one (A) of the combine harvesters and installing a connecting mechanism 20 capable of regulating the relative displacement in the front and rear directions, and right and left directions of both the combine harvesters (A) and (B) and permitting the relative displacement in the vertical directions of both the combine harvesters (A) and (B) in opposite lateral parts of both the combine harvesters (A) and (B).

When it is detected to be in reaping operation while gradually raising grain culm reaping height, respective lift mechanisms are driven so that respective traveling devices 1, 1 relatively descent to the corresponding set positions; and, when a short culm sensor S2 is actuated so as to detect that the length of the grain culms to be conveyed is at or below a specified value, the whole culm feeder 16 is controlled to switch from grain culm conveyance mode to whole culm feed mode.

CONSTITUTION:An ear tip position detecting sensor (S1) and a grain culm length detecting sensor (S2) are respectively provided on the downstream and the upstream sides of a threshing depth regulating position with a threshing depth regulating means 17 in the conveying direction of grain culms. When a variation for the set time to the increasing or decreasing side of the detected culm length is judged to be larger than the set value, the threshing depth regulating means 17 is operated based on the sensor (S2).

SOLUTION: This travel controlling device of a combine is provided by installing a steering controlling means for automatically traveling a machine body along planted culms by switching on and off for operating left and right side clutches based on a detected information of an operation sensor 47 equipped at a weed separating tool 48, and being equipped with a side transferring mechanism for side transferring a working part B equipped with a reaping part, a threshing part and a grain tank against a traveling part A having both crawlers 1, and a stubble traveling controlling means adjusting the relative left and right positions of the weed separating tool 48 and a left crawler 1L by linking the operation sensor 47, a position sensor and the side transferring mechanism so as to pass the left crawler 1L on stubs (m) in the automatic traveling state by the steering controlling means.
