The present disclosure relates to an integrated washing-drying machine and a method of controlling the same, the integrated washing-drying machine including a housing, a drying drum disposed at an upper side in the housing and configured to accommodate and dry laundry, a washing drum disposed at a lower side in the housing and configured to accommodate and wash laundry, a heat pump having an evaporator, a compressor, and a condenser and produce hot air for drying laundry and supply the hot air to the drying drum, and a cleaning means configured to clean the condenser by spraying cleaning water to the condenser. In this case, the cleaning means uses, as the cleaning water, at least any one of condensate water produced in the evaporator and washing water to be supplied to the washing drum. With this configuration, when the amount of condensate water is insufficient, the washing water is additionally supplied to clean the condenser cleanly.

The present disclosure relates to an indoor apparatus of an air-conditioning system with a reduced noise level and to a method for controlling the apparatus. The apparatus includes: a heat-exchanger (110) for exchanging heat between refrigerant and indoor air; a fan (130) rotating to flow air to the heat-exchanger; an expansion valve (150) for expanding refrigerant discharged from the heat-exchanger; a first temperature sensor (161) disposed on a first conduit for supplying refrigerant to the heat-exchanger, wherein the first temperature sensor detects a first temperature of refrigerant to be fed into the heat-exchanger; a second temperature sensor (163) disposed on a second conduit for receiving refrigerant from the heat-exchanger, wherein the second temperature sensor detects a second temperature of refrigerant discharged from the heat-exchanger; and a controller (170) configured to: calculate a suctioned refrigerant superheat based on a difference between the first and second temperatures; and to control activation or deactivation of the fan and/or opening or closing of the expansion valve based on the calculated suctioned refrigerant superheat to reduce a noise level of the indoor apparatus.
Abstract:
An air conditioner and a method of operating the same are provided. The air conditioner includes a noise sensor, sets a target noise level for controlling the operation of the air conditioner according to ambient noise measured by the noise sensor, and changes the operational settings of the compressor and outdoor unit fan to ensure that noise from the air conditioner does not exceed an environmental noise regulatory value. Accordingly, the air conditioner and the method of operating the same can allow for more efficient low noise operation by detecting ambient noise around the air conditioner and controlling the operation of the air conditioner according to the ambient noise level, and offer a more pleasant environment by eliminating the user's discomfort from noise.
