Abstract:
A wide-bandwidth aperture antenna is constructed of two parallel metal plates 51, 52, each having a resonant aperture 53, 54. The apertured plates are arranged parallel to one another, with the apertures aligned. A third plate 57 is arranged parallel to the apertured plates to act as a reflector. The resonant apertures are in the form of squares with rounded corners. Feed stubs 55 and 56 are arranged between the apertured plates and project into the region between the apertures to excite orthogonally polarized modes. The feed stubs are in the form of strips which are aligned in planes perpendicular to the planes of the apertured plates. An exemplary embodiment has a bandwidth of 1700MHz to 3300MHz, containing the bands used for GSM 1800, UMTS, UMTS+, Bluetooth and WLAN systems. The feed is high-impedance and the decoupling better than -11 dB over the whole bandwidth.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for providing tunable high-frequency and/or radio-frequency. An object of the invention is therefore to provide a new and improved approach for providing an increased reconfiguration flexibility and even a tuning and/or matching flexibility with regard to high frequency or radio frequency, in particular suitable for use within base stations and/or user terminals, such as handsets adapted to be used within the above mentioned communication systems, especially for an enhanced tuning of a VCO within desired frequency bands, by preferably simultaneously reducing undesirable parasitic influences. The invention proposes a device for providing tunable high-frequency and/or radio-frequency comprising within one IC-package at least four signal paths providing at least two input and at least two output ports (rf-port1, rf-port2, rf-prot3, rf-port4) at least one active component (T) and at least one variable passive component (C 1 , C 2 ) connected at least with an input port of the active component (T), and at least one control path for controllable tuning the at least one variable passive component (C 1 , C 2 ).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a re-configurable filter. An object of the invention is, to provide a new and improved approach for providing an increased reconfiguration flexibility with regard to a filter, in particular to a bandpass-filter for different high-frequency or radio-frequency bands, in particular suitable for use within the transceiver of base stations and/or user terminals, such as handsets adapted to be used within these communication systems, by preferably simultaneously reducing undesirable parasitic influences. The invention proposes a reconfigurable multibandfilter, in particular adapted for filtering high-frequency and/or radio-frequency comprising at least two filters (f1, f2, f3) connected at their input ports in parallel (1) into a signal path, and at least one controllable switching means for individually connecting (2) respectively one of the filter output ports into said signal path with the other filter output ports disconnected from said signal path and in particular connected to ground (3).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for high-frequency and/or radio-frequency tuning. An object of the invention is to provide a new and improved approach for enabling an increased high-frequency and/or radio-frequency tuning range by a reduced complexity and board space even with regard to multiband and/or multistandard purposes, in particular suitable within the radio design for mobile communication systems and/or networks, preferably by simultaneously reducing the undesirable parasitic influences. The invention proposes a device for high-frequency and/or radio-frequency tuning comprising within one IC-package a first variable capacitor (C 1 ) and at least one second capacitor (C 2 ), each of the at least one second capacitor (C 2 ) being fixed or variable respectively, at least one signal path connected to the first variable capacitor (C 1 ) and providing at least one input and one output port (rf-port1, rf-port2) and at least one controllable switching means (S C2 ) for individually connecting and disconnecting at least one of the at least one second capacitor (C 2 ) into the signal path or from the signal path, in particular in parallel to the first variable capacitor (C 1 ).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the automatic detection of the allocation of at least one transmitting device and/or receiving device to a transmitting and/or receiving antenna of a radio communication equipment, which has at least one transmitting device and/or receiving device (1, 2..m 1 , 1, 2..m 2 , 1, 2..m n ) and at least one transmitting and/or receiving antenna (70 1 , 70 2 ..70 n ; 75 1 , 75 2 ..75 n ). For this purpose, at least one transmitting device and/or receiving device is first allocated to each transmitting antenna and/or receiving antenna. A predetermined transmitting device and/or receiving device is then activated, and a signal or noise is fed into the radio communication equipment. The signal or noise is evaluated in at least one detector device (1, 2..m 1 , 1, 2..m 2 , 1, 2..m n ; 50 1 , 50 2 ..50 n ), which is arranged at a predetermined place of the radio communication equipment. An allocation of the activated transmitting device and/or receiving device to one of the transmitting antennas and/or receiving antennas is ascertained in dependence on the evaluated signal or noise level.
