    Abstract: A process is described which is useful in treating metal surfaces to increas e the adhesion of polymeric materials thereto. The process involves treating t he metal surface with a pre-dip which comprises an aqueous solution with pH of from 5 to 12 and then further treating the metal surface with an adhesion- promoting composition comprising an acid, an oxidizer and a corrosion inhibitor.
