The control device includes a target setter that sets the target travel distance of the driving object in every predetermined period when the driving object is moved, and an operation amount determiner that determines whether or not the operation amount calculated by the operation amount calculator is equal to or more than a predetermined upper limit. The target setter sets the target travel distance according to a first rule when the operation amount is determined by the operation amount determiner to be less than the upper limit. When the operation amount is determined to be equal to or more than the upper limit by the operation amount determiner, the target setter sets according to a second rule.

In order to prevent a troublesome result if a wrong operation button is pressed by mistake, a signal is transmitted from a “New Patient” button 6a to a control section 7′ when a normal/lock switching switch 6b′ is in a normal mode. When the normal/lock switching switch 6b′ is in a lock mode, no signal is transmitted from the “New Patient” button 6a to the control section 7′, and an LED 8 is lit.

An ultrasonic probe connected to an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus having a display unit configured to display an ultrasonic image is provided. The ultrasonic probe includes a transducer array aligned in a predetermined direction for and configured to transmit an ultrasonic beam to a target object and receive a reflected ultrasonic beam, a probe display unit fixed to said ultrasonic probe and having a length at least as long as a length of said transducer array, and a display control unit configured to, based on a specific information specified in the ultrasonic image displayed on the image display unit, display a corresponding position of the specific information on said probe display unit.

A transporting apparatus includes a motor, a transporting mechanism which receives a power from the motor and transports the sheet, and a control section which controls the motor in accordance with a predetermined control sequence to make the transporting mechanism transport the sheet up to a target position, and detects an occurrence of an electric-current saturation phenomenon in the motor. When the control section detects the occurrence of the electric-current saturation phenomenon, the control section performs correction of the predetermined control sequence including correction in which a target transporting velocity of the sheet is lowered from a predetermined value determined in the predetermined control sequence, and controls the motor in accordance with the corrected control sequence to make the transporting mechanism transport the sheet so that the sheet is stopped at the target position.

The carriage conveyance unit includes a motor and conveys a carriage in a main scanning direction by a driving force of the motor. The sheet conveyance unit conveys a sheet in a sub-scanning direction which crosses the main scanning direction in which the carriage is conveyed. The failure detection unit detects a conveyance failure of the carriage. The position detection unit detects a position of the carriage in the main scanning direction. The jam determination unit determines whether or not the conveyance failure is due to jamming caused by interference between the carriage and the sheet, based on the position of the carriage detected by the position detection unit at a time when the conveyance failure is detected by the failure detection unit.

A motor control method includes the steps of: measuring a time period from an output of a drive detection signal to a next output of a drive detection signal; storing the measurement result at each time of output of a drive detection signal as a measured cycle; calculating a driven velocity of the driven object based on the stored measured cycle; calculating an operation amount of the motor such that the calculated driven velocity is equal to a predetermined target velocity. In the motor control method, it is determined, at each calculation timing, whether or not the driven object is in a low velocity state where an actual velocity is lower than the target velocity. When determined affirmative, calculation of the driven velocity of the driven object is performed based on a measured value being currently measured at the calculation timing in place of the stored measured cycle.
