    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed that may allow a wireless device to process an Ethertype data packet encapsulated in a frame based on whether the frame contains an Ethertype Packet Discrimination (EPD) indicator. The wireless device may receive the frame from another wireless device over a wireless network, and may detect a presence of the EPD indicator in the received frame. Then, the wireless device may identify a protocol type of the Ethertype data packet according to an EPD operation based on the presence of the EPD indicator, or may identify the protocol type of the Ethertype data packet according to an LPD operation based on an absence of the EPD indicator.

    Abstract: Un procedimiento de comunicación, que comprende: determinar los parámetros de transmisión para la comunicación con un aparato, en el que los parámetros de transmisión determinados comprenden varias secuencias espaciales, un ancho de banda, y un esquema de modulación y codificación; identificar una tabla de un conjunto de tablas de parámetros de transmisión, en el que la identificación de la tabla se basa en el número de secuencias espaciales y el ancho de banda; determinar un índice de la tabla identificada, en el que la determinación del índice se basa en el esquema de modulación y codificación, MCS; estando el procedimiento caracterizado por: transmitir una trama al aparato, en el que la trama contiene indicaciones de: el índice, el número de secuencias espaciales, y el ancho de banda, en el que: la trama comprende un campo de Identificación de Velocidad; el campo de Identificación de Velocidad comprende un primer campo y un segundo campo; y el primer campo indica si el segundo campo especifica el índice de acuerdo con un MCS, de alta velocidad, HT, IEEE 802.11, o de acuerdo con un formato de muy alta velocidad, VHT, IEEE 802.11, y en el que, para VHT, el índice indica el número de secuencias espaciales y el índice MCS.
