Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described that provide for wireless ranging. The methods, systems, and/or devices may include tools and techniques that provide for determining a range based on a TOD and a TOA that is adjusted based on a mean FAC. A probe may be transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. The transmitter may receive a response, from the receiver. A strongest path within the response may be identified. A threshold may be determined. A plurality of FAC values may be identified, which exceed the threshold and precede the strongest path within the response. After the plurality of FAC values are identified, a mean FAC may be determined based at least in part on the plurality of FAC values. A TOA of the response may be adjusted based on the mean FAC. A range to the receiver may be determined based on a TOD and the adjusted TOA.
Abstract:
One innovation includes an apparatus, for wirelessly communicating with a communication system via a first wireless channel and a second wireless channel, including a memory unit that is configured to store a first data packet and a second data packet, the first data packet and the second data packet have consecutive sequence numbers. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to retrieve the first data packet and the second data packet from the memory unit, a transceiver that is configured to transmit the first data packet to the communication system via the first channel, to receive a first acknowledgement from the communication system and to transmit the second data packet to the communication system via the second channel after the processor detects that the first acknowledgement comprises a positive acknowledgement of the first reception information.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems, methods and devices for obtaining round trip time measurements for use in location based services. In particular implementations, a fine timing measurement request message wirelessly transmitted by a first transceiver device to a second transceiver device may permit additional processing features in computing or applying a signal round trip time measurement. Such a signal round trip time measurement may be used in positioning operations.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for enhancing the concurrency of a wireless device operating in multiple network contexts. By identifying opportunity instants that may exist within the normal exchange of information by a device having a single physical transceiver in a first network context, tasks for a second network context may be performed using the transceiver with minimal impact on performance related to the first network context and preferably in complete transparence to the first network context.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that improve power management for devices communicating via Bluetooth (BT) over Internet Protocol (BTOIP). The apparatus for wireless communication for a first device receives a first set of packets from a second device during a time period associated with a training phase for the first device. The apparatus determines an arrival time of a first packet of the first set of packets. The apparatus determines, based on the arrival time and a wakeup time interval, a wakeup time for the first device. The apparatus causes, based on the wakeup time for the first device and one or more attributes associated with the first set of packets, a shutdown of the first device.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for reducing power consumption in neighbor awareness networking (NAN) devices. Some implementations more specifically relate to dynamically adjusting a NAN device link (NDL) schedule to reduce the idle duration of a NAN data interface (NDI). The NDL schedule identifies a number of NAN slots, per discovery window (DW) interval, during which an NDL is available for data communications between NAN devices. In some aspects, a NAN device may measure congestion on the wireless channel during each NAN slot within a DW interval and may dynamically update the NDL schedule based on the measured congestion. In some other aspects, a NAN device may measure throughput on the NDL during each NAN slot within a DW interval and may dynamically update the NDL schedule based on the measured throughput.
Abstract:
Certain aspects relate to methods, apparatuses, computer readable mediums and access terminals that effectively (1) detect leaky or rogue access points and (2) take one or more actions based on such detection.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for implementing conditional inheritance in a management frame for two or more basic service sets (BSSs). In one aspect, an apparatus may be configurable to provide functions of a first virtual access point (VAP) corresponding to a first BSS and a second VAP corresponding to a second BSS. The apparatus may determine a first BSS identifier (BSSID) profile for the second VAP by customizing one or more management elements of management information of the first VAP. The apparatus may configure a first non-inheritance element of the first BSSID profile associated with the second VAP to indicate usage of at least one management element of the management information by the second BSS associated with the second VAP is disabled. The apparatus may generate a management frame that comprises at least the first BSSID profile for transmission.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for an AP. The AP determines a time duration associated with a validity of a first broadcast TWT parameter set associated with a broadcast TWT schedule identified by a first ID. The AP generates the first broadcast TWT parameter set to identify the determined time duration. The first broadcast TWT parameter set includes at least four bits identifying the determined time duration. The AP transmits a management frame including the generated first broadcast TWT parameter set. The time duration may indicate a number of intervals for which the first broadcast TWT parameter set is valid. Each interval of the intervals may be a beacon interval corresponding to a beacon frame, or may be a DTIM interval corresponding to a beacon frame that includes a DTIM.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A station (STA) capable of supporting multiple power modes may monitor traffic on a channel The STA may, based on the monitoring, detect an ongoing voice call between the STA and an access point (AP). Upon detection of the ongoing voice call, the STA may switch power modes from a power mode that does not support power collapse to a power mode that does support power collapse. The STA may also prompt the AP to send a downlink voice packet, if available. After a downlink transmission opportunity corresponding to the prompt occurs, the STA may enter power collapse. The STA may remain in power collapse until a subsequent uplink transmission opportunity occurs.
