    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless repeater beamforms a receive signal, at a first antenna array. The repeater retransmits, via a second antenna array, a beamformed signal. The repeater may adjust the receive and/or transmit beam in order to avoid signal interference caused by the retransmission. The repeater may monitor an output of a power amplifier (PA) in a signal processing chain and adjust a gain to a PA driver to the PA and/or a gain to one or more low noise amplifiers (LNAs) in the signal processing chain in order to improve or maintain transmission stability in the repeater.

    Abstract: A node including a non-planar reflective surface is disclosed. The node may receive, from a base station, an indication of a surface configuration of at least one convex reflective surface of the node. The indication may indicate that the surface configuration corresponds to at least one of a broadcast configuration or a UE-specific configuration. The node may configure, upon receiving the indication of the surface configuration, the at least one convex reflective surface based on the surface configuration. The surface configuration may correspond to at least one of the broadcast configuration or the UE-specific configuration. The node may forward communication received from, or forward communication to, the base station based on the surface configuration of the at least one convex reflective surface.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for implementing a flexible beamforming architecture. In an example aspect, the apparatus comprises an antenna array comprising a first antenna element with a first feed port and a second antenna element with a second feed port. The apparatus also comprises a wireless transceiver with a first dedicated transceiver path coupled to the first feed port and a second dedicated transceiver path coupled to the second feed port. The wireless transceiver also comprises a flexible beamforming network configured to selectively be in a first configuration that couples both the first dedicated transceiver path and the second dedicated transceiver path to a first intermediate transceiver path of the wireless transceiver, and be in a second configuration that connects the first dedicated transceiver path to the first intermediate transceiver path and connects the second dedicated transceiver path to a second intermediate transceiver path of the wireless transceiver.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A bidirectional wireless repeater may receive a first waveform during a first time domain duplexing period via a first antenna array and may transmit the first waveform at a second antenna array during the first time domain duplexing period. A di-pole di-throw (DPDT) switch may be coupled to the first and second antenna arrays and may switch the arrays during a guard period between the first time domain duplexing period and a second time domain duplexing period. The DPDT switch may toggle the first and second antenna arrays between transmit and receive modes.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A codebook adaptation may be performed for a flexible user equipment (UEs) to determine a codebook for a physical configuration of the UE. For example, if the UE determines that the physical configuration does not correspond to a pre-loaded codebook in its memory, the UE may provide information about the physical configuration to a base station to determine a corresponding codebook. Additionally, the UE may request that the base station provide channel information to assist with the codebook determination. In some cases, this request may indicate for the base station to allocate a specific number of channel state information reference signal symbols that the UE can use for the codebook determination. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may generate the codebook internally and then signal to the base station a request for a beam refinement procedure with the generated codebook.
