An interface including another inductor is in communicating relation with the communication member. The message includes a number of bits. The method includes creating a message including at least one bit representative of the quality of the message, and selectively receiving the message by analyzing the bit representative of the quality of the message. A method for optimizing file space and improving execution speed of an intelligent electronic device (lED) configured in accordance with the IEC-61850 standard for messaging with other intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) is disclosed. The message includes a number of bits. The method includes creating a message including at least one bit indicating important data bits, and selectively receiving the message based on the bit indicating important data in order to prioritize the important data bits.
