Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a flaw, etc., generated during the engagement between a recess for locking and a roller from causing a position shift at the time of setting a grating position by providing a recess which different in inclination from an abutting surface as the recess for locking separately from a recess for grating positioning. CONSTITUTION:When diffraction gratings are switched, a motor 6 is rotated clockwise until a recess corresponding to a target diffraction grating comes to the tip part of a lever 9 for locking and a roller R atop the lever 9 rotates clockwise slightly and rotates clockwise slightly excessively from a position where a roller R atop the lever 9 falls in the recess, and then rotated counterclockwise. Then the surface S of the recess abuts on the tip roller R to inhibit a turntable 1 from rotating counterclockwise, and then the motor 6 rotates counterclockwise to expand a spring 8, so that the surface S of the recess is pressed against the tip roller R. Here, the motor 6 is stopped from rotating where the tension of the spring 8 is proper, and then the motor 6 holds itself at the stop position, so the turntable 1 is held at the position where it is inhibited from rotating by a lever.

CONSTITUTION: A first driving part 21 is provided for driving a diffraction grating 12 of a pre-spectrometer and a second driving part 22 for driving a diffraction grating 14 of a main spectrometer, and the two driving parts 21 and 22 are independent of each other mechanically. These driving parts 21 and 22 operate on the basis of a control signal from a control part 23 and thereby the diffraction gratings 12 and 14 are geared with each other.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve productivity and accuracy by molding the positioning and attaching part of a structure for a light source part and a spectroscope part with glass-fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester resin (BMC). CONSTITUTION:In chassis 1 which is a BMC molded part as a structure, a positioning and attaching part for a light source part (a) and a spectroscope part (b) are molded as a unitary body. In the light source part (a), an ultraviolet lamp 2 and a visible light lamp 3 are constituted so that the lamps can be switched with a rotary mirror 4. A wavelength driving mechanism 7 having a diffraction grating and the like are attached to the spectroscope part (b). Here, the molded product of the BMC has the dimensional accuracy in the unit of 0.01mm required for the spectroscope and long-term dimensional stability and also has heat resistance high enough to be employed as the structure for the light source part (a) that is heated to the vicinity of about 100 deg.C with the lamps 2 and 3.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a wavelength feed mechanism suitable for a low cost type spectrophotometer relatively rough in a wavelength feed step and low in accuracy request, by forcibly moving the sign bar provided to the rotary shaft of a diffraction lattice in a protruded state by an impact member connecting the non-extensible flexible member wound around a pulley. CONSTITUTION:A steel belt 3 is wound around a pulley 2 fitted to the shaft of a stepping motor 1 and both ends thereof the fixed to an impact member 4 which is held to a guide 5. A sign bar 8 fixed to the rotary stand 7 of diffraction lattice 6 is forcibly moved by the member 4 and each phase exciting current of a motor 1 is stepwise changed so as to perform so called micro-stepping driving finely dividing the inherent stepping angle of the motor 1. As a result, the error on a mechanism is caused by the out of roundness or eccentricity of the pulley but the enhancement of the accuracy of the pulley is easy as compared with the engineering work of a feed screw mechanism and the title mechanism can be inexpensively obtained as compared with a feed screw type sign bar mechanism.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To send a wavelength at a high speed, and to reduce a manufacturing cost by simplifying the structure, by constituting a wavelength sending mechanism for rotating an optical dispersing element by combining a toothed belt, a toothed pulley and a gear, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: A small diameter toothed pulley 6 is attached to a revolving shaft of a stepping motor 4 which is connected to a controlling circuit and also drives to rotate an optical dispersing element 2, and also a large diameter gear 24 is fixed coaxially with the optical dispersing element 2 to a diffraction grating holder 26. Also, a small diameter gear 22 is screwed to the large diameter gear 24, a large diameter toothed pulley 10 is attached coaxially with the gear 22, and to this pulley and the small diameter toothed pulley 6, a toothed belt 8 is extended. Also, this mechanism is constituted so that a rotation of the motor 4 is transferred in a high reduction gear ratio to the optical dispersing element 2, by a reduction gear ratio of the gear 22 and the gear 24 and a gear ratio of the pulley 6 and the pulley 10, and so that a spectral wavelength range can be scanned in an extremely short time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of measured light by providing the first lens set up on a light passage for an external detector measuring instrument to focus an image through an light flux diaphragm and the second lens to focus the image of a light flux at a middle between a fixed mirror and a rotary mirror. CONSTITUTION:When a light flux diaphragm 19 is placed right after an image focusing optical system 7 to focus an image through the light flux diaphragm 19 on the plane of an integrating sphere entrance 11 with a positively powered lens 21 (the first lens), all of measured light is injected as a light flux which has a clear contour and a size restricted without enlarging the integrating sphere entrance 11. When a negatively powered lens 20 (the second lens) is placed in close contact with the light flux diaphragm 19 and combined with the lens 21 to refocus a small image at a narrowest-spaced middle 18 between a fixed mirror 13 and a rotary mirror 16 where measurement is made by a spectrophotometer mainframe, the size of the light flux becomes smaller at the middle between the mirrors 13, 16. In this way, the size of a light flux size restricting opening can be enlarged and the quantity of measured light can be increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement with a wavelength optimal for an object to be measured by fixing a slit plate to the front face of a single detecting face entirely covering the measuring wavelength range. CONSTITUTION:An opening 9 is made through a slit plate 8 being fixed to the front face of the detecting face of a detector 7, i.e., on the focal image of polychromator. The detecting face 7a has a length sufficient to cover the measuring wavelength entirely. Height of the detecting face 7a is set to be conformable with the quantity of measuring light, aberration of polychromator, height of inlet slit, and the like. Height of the opening 9 is determined while taking account of various conditions including the height of the detecting face 7a and aberration of the polychromator. The slit plate 8 can be mounted/ demounted easily while being positioned by means of pins 13a, 13b. When slit plates corresponding to various wavelengths are prepared, one polychromator section can be utilized for different wavelengths.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a substrate of an array-shaped photo detector and an entrance slit from interfering with each other and easily perform focusing to obtain an optimum focused image on the array-shaped photo detector. CONSTITUTION:A flat reflecting mirror 22 is provided on a divergent side of a concave diffraction grating 16, an array-shaped photo detector 20 is provided at a position for receiving reflected light by the flat reflecting mirror 22, and a direction of a light receiving face of the arrayshaped photo detector 20 is determined so that the detector is parallel to a direction in which diffraction light of center wavelength in a measured wavelength range proceeds from the center of the diffraction grating 16. The flat reflecting mirror 22 and the array-shaped photo detector 20 are attached to an integral holder 26, and the holder 26 is attached to this spectrometer so that it can slide while a parallel relation between a direction in which diffraction light of the center wavelength of the measured wavelength range proceeds from the center of the diffraction grating 16 and the light receiving face of the array-shaped photo detector 20 is maintained. A focused image of the diffraction light on the light receiving face of the arrayshaped photo detector 20 can be adjusted without causing a slit on an opening of a polychromator case 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the spectral characteristic of a minute-amount liquid sample by a method wherein a capillary tube is made to suck liquid to be measured, from one end thereof, by a capillary action and to hold it and the tube is cut at an appropriate length from the suction side end thereof so that the part holding the liquid is included, and is made to be supported fixedly by a measuring part. CONSTITUTION:One end of a capillary tube 1 is dipped a little below the level of a sample vessel 2 in which a sample liquid 3 is put, and the sample liquid 3 is introduced into the tube 1 by utilizing a capillary action. The tube 1 is cut at a prescribed length (h) from the end face thereof and a tube fragment 4 thus prepared is set in a measuring part of a spectrophotometer so that the central axis thereof is parallel to the optical axis of measurement. When the dimension of a light flux in the measuring part is assumed to be 1mm and when the bore of the capillary tube 1 is set at phi2mm, for instance, and an optical path (d) at 1mm in view of some margin for positional precision, positional reproducibility, etc., in the case when the tube fragment 4 is supported by the measuring part, the amount of the sample liquid 3 held in the fragment 4 is about 3mul. On condition that the bore is about phi2mm and the liquid is an ordinary one, suction to a height of about 1mm can be attained sufficiently by the capillary action.
