Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrophotometer for measuring the radiation spectrum of an external light source, which eliminates the need for a dedicated inlet for introducing external light and an optical axis switching mechanism for switching an optical axis. SOLUTION: The spectrophotometer exchangeable of an internal light source is, after removing the internal light source, installed with an external light introduction optical apparatus 4 which is attachable/detachable to/from a light source positioning component (not shown) and includes an external mirror 5 and an internal mirror 6. Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the spectral reflection factor even for small incident and reflection angles by splitting a measurement light flux into reflecting/ transmitting directions by means of a translucent mirror, again splitting the reflected light from a sample caused by one light flux by means of the translucent mirror, and measuring one light flux among them. CONSTITUTION:An integrating sphere 1 is installed in an A position, and a measurement light flux 2 is split into the reflected light 11 and the transmitted light by means of a translucent mirror 6 arranged at an angle of 45 degrees to the optical axis on an optical path. To the reflected light 11, a sample 4 or a reflection standard sample 5 is held perpendicularly to the light flux. The light flux incident perpendicularly on the sample 4 is reflected, again split into the reflected light and the transmitted light by means of the translucent mirror 6, the transmitted light among them is refracted by means of a reflecting mirror 7, and is introduced to the integrating sphere 1 to be measured. In this constitution, a spectral reflection factor of the light flux incident perpendicularly on the surface of the sample can be measured.

SOLUTION: B type sample chamber unit can be installed/used by attaching an adapter equipped with the holding mechanism of B type sample chamber unit to the inside of the sample chamber of the spectrometer which installs/uses A type sample chamber unit standardly. Furthermore, the entry of outdoor daylight, when installed, is prevented by intentionally adding dimensionally overlapped parts between the adapter and B type sample chamber unit, and the adapter and a component inside the spectrophotometer.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrophotometer which measures and analyzes a trace amount of sample, without using a sample cell, employs a unique mechanism and a simple structure that has not been available so far.
SOLUTION: The structure of the spectrophotometer consists of: a light source A for irradiating the sample S with measuring light; a sample-holding part B for holding the sample S; and a detection part C for detecting the measuring light transmitted through the sample S. The sample-holding part B is equipped with: a pair of rotating drums 7, arranged so that the rotational axes of them are set parallel and rotated in synchronism, in mutually reverse directions; and fiber rods 8, which comprise a light transmissive material, respectively arranged to the peripheral walls of the rotating drums 7, in a state with one-end surfaces of them being directed toward the direction of radiation. The sample S is held between the end surfaces of the left and the right fiber rods 8, by rotating the rotating drums 7; and the measuring light is made to pass through the left and the right fiber rods 8, which hold the sample in the axial direction of the fiber rods 8.

A pressure member 3, on the other hand, is fitted onto the outer periphery of the frame body 21 and when a claw 33 at its lower end edge engages the engagement step, the internal surface of an end surface part 32 presses the top surface of the optical element 1. Consequently, the optical element 1 is clamped between the fixed base 2 and pressure member 3.
