Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove complexity for user's time setting by automatically setting up the time of an internal clock. CONSTITUTION:This broadcasting signal receiver is provided with a cable box 1 for receiving a CATV signal and selecting its channel and a video cassette recorder(VCR) 2. When power for the VCR 2 is turned off, the box 1 is turned on by a remote control signal outputted from an infrared-ray light emitting part 4 under the control of a microcomputer 22 to select the channel of a broadcasting signal to which VBI data are multiplexed. A data decoder 21 extracts the VBI data by an output video signal from a tuner 20, decodes the signal and supplies the decoded signal to the microcomputer 22. The microcomputer 22 extracts time data from the VBI data and sets up the time of the internal clock of the VCR 2 included in itself to the time based upon the extracted time data. Consequently the internal clock of the VCR 2 is automatically set up in each power off of the VCR 2, so that complexity for user's time setting can be removed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the user-friendliness of a recording apparatus in the case of making recording reservation of programs of a determined group such as a serial program. SOLUTION: In a broadcast program recording method, at least programs of a first group and programs of a second group detected on the basis of program data are reserved when the recording of broadcast programs is reserved on the basis of the program data for guiding programs broadcast by a prescribed broadcast service and the recording is executed on the basis of the reservation, to light up a first lighting means 141 when the recording is executed by the reservation of the programs of the first group, and lights up a second lighting means 142 when the recording is executed by the reservation of the programs of the second group. SOLUTION: When a remote command transmitter 2 or the like is used to make display command of an electronic program guide, a microcomputer (μcon) 13 selects a 2nd switch SW2 to the position of a VTR, then the electronic program guide data decoded by the μcon 13 are sent to a television receiver 23 via the SW2. Simultaneously the μcon 13 sends a remote command code to select a channel to a light emitting section 22 to select a channel of the television receiver 23. Thus, the electronic program guide is displayed on the television receiver 23.

When setting the time later, the microcomputer 22 remotely controls the tuner 12 so as to perform tuning within the range of the VBI channel stored in the memory 30.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of performance by controlling the tuning frequency, based on the tuning frequency of a stored memory card. SOLUTION: An antenna 31 transmits and receives a prescribed carrier to transmit a prescribed signal to a memory card and to perform the communication with the memory card. A tuning circuit 32 extracts the carrier frequency used for the communication between the memory card and a reader/writer 2 from the signals supplied from the antenna 31. A microcomputer 36 controls every part according to the control programs which are stored in a ROM 38 and also controls the capacity of a variable capacitor contained in the circuit 32 based on the tuning frequency data which are supplied via a communication control circuit 35 i.e., controls the tuning frequency. It's possible to control the variable capacitor by making the microcomputer 36 read out the capacitance value of a capacitor corresponding to the tuning frequency data which are previously stored in the ROM 38.

At this time, when the priority is imparted to the first reserve means, though both means reserve the program of the same date and the same time, the reserve of the second means is canceled, and a video recording circuit 6 executes the video recording reserve of the first means, and the confusion is prevented.
