A thin image display apparatus is provided to supply power through a power line arranged within a support member and supply a video signal through the power line or wireless communication, thereby maintaining good appearance of thin image display apparatus. A thin image display apparatus comprises the followings: a thin image display apparatus body; a hollow support member which has one end where the hollow support member supports the thin image display apparatus body via a rocking mechanism section, and the other end where a plug element configured to engage with an illumination apparatus wiring member attached to the ceiling or a wall is installed; and a power line which is extended through the hollow support member and configured to connect the plug element and the thin image display apparatus body to each other.

A transmission system, a transmission method, a video output apparatus and a video input apparatus are provided to transmit index video and content list stored in a source device by only connecting a sink device and a source device through a cable and display lists of video contents and the index video, thereby improving the convenience of manipulation of a video device. A transmission system includes a control data input/output unit, a video data output unit, a video data storing unit, a content list storing unit, and an index video data storing unit. The control data input/output unit inputs and outputs control data. The video data output unit outputs video data. The video data storing unit stores video data capable of being outputted from the video data output unit. The content list storing unit stores a content list of video data stored in the video data storing unit. The index video data storing unit stores index video data of video data stored in the video data storing unit.

A communication system, an information processing device, an information processing method, and a program are provided to be applicable to a device which confirms communication with other device, and has a function for implementing a voice conversation between users and a function for enabling a user to view a certain program. A communication system comprises television receiving devices(1-1,1-2,1-3) and a server(2). The television receiving devices(1-1,1-2,1-3) the server(2) are connected to one another via a network(3) composed of the Internet or the like. The television receiving devices(1-1,1-2,1-3) each have a microphone and a speaker. A television receiving device transmits data of voice of a user which data is captured by the microphone to a television receiving device set as another communication device at this time via the network(3), and outputs, from the speaker, voice of a user of the television device as the other communication device on the basis of data captured and transmitted via the network(3) by the television receiving device as the other communication device. The server(2) is a DNS(Domain Name System) server. The server(2) manages communications among the television receiving devices(1-1,1-2,1-3). A conversion from a dynamic range conversion image into a desired image is performed in a favorable manner. A setting unit sets a plurality of items of knee position information about a conversion from a first dynamic range image into a second dynamic range image. An encoding unit encodes the second dynamic range image to generate encoded data. A determination unit determines priority order of the plurality of items of knee position information. An adding unit adds the plurality of items of knee position information to the encoded data of the second dynamic range image, with the priority order given to the plurality of items of knee position information.

Provided is a display apparatus including a first signal receiving unit that receives a non-compressed video signal from an external device via a first transmission path through a plurality of channels by means of a differential signal, an image display unit that displays images by processing the video signal received by the first signal receiving unit, a second signal receiving unit that receives a compressed video signal of a same video source as the non-compressed video signal by using a bi-directional communication path configured by predetermined lines of the first transmission path, and a signal transmitting unit that transmits a compressed video signal corresponding to the compressed video signal received by the second signal receiving unit to another external device different from the external device.

An optical fiber connector according to the present invention is provided with a plurality of optical transmission paths, of which the end surface is arranged within a predetermined region and which transmit optical signals. The optical transmission paths, which correspond to transmission channels or reception channels, are arranged in point symmetry with respect to the center of the predetermined region. As a result of such a configuration, it is possible to connect even if the orientation of the optical connector changes.
