Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection member having an antistatic function and a shielding function against electromagnetic radiation and having an antireflection optical thin film having excellent adhesion property to a hard coating layer. SOLUTION: This antireflection member is composed of a base body, a hard coating layer and at least two layers of antireflection optical thin films. The first layer of the antireflection thin film in contact with the hard coating layer is composed of a transparent conductive oxide film (such as SnO2 , ZnO, In2 O3 , ITO) formed by a reactive physical vapor phase growing method. The second layer of the antireflection optical thin film is composed of a material having smaller refractive index (such as SiO2 and MgF2 ) than the refractive index of the material which constitutes the first layer.

SOLUTION: This filter for display device is provided with a light absorbing filter layer 2 on a transparent substrate 1 and a reflection preventing film 5 constituted of two or more layers on the light absorbing filter layer, and the reflection preventing film constituted of two or more layers is provided with at least one absorbing layer 3. Then, the filter for a display device is adhered to a display device.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filter for a display device having high surface strength and superior abrasion resistance for suppressing the reflection of external light between adhesive layers (interfaces) for sticking the display device filter on the display device and furthermore to enable it to be reused through peeling. SOLUTION: This filter forms at least one layer of an optical thin film 11 for antireflection on one surface of a glass substrate 11 and is used by sticking the other surface on the display surface 16 of a display device. In this case, a 1st adhesive layer 3, a plastic film layer 14 which has a refraction index matching or nearly in matching with the refractive index of the 1st adhesive layer 13 and a 2nd adhesive layer 15 are sequentially laminated on the surface side, where the glass substrate 11 is stuck on the display device.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection preventing film excellent in contamination preventing characteristic. SOLUTION: This reflection preventing film 14 for preventing the reflection of a light on the surface of a base material 11 is formed of a reflection preventing layer 12 covering the surface of the base material 11, and a photocatalyst layer 13 provided on the reflection preventing layer 12. The photocatalyst layer 13 has a film thickness T within the range capable of providing the reflection preventing effect by the reflection preventing layer 12. According to this structure, the contamination with an organic compound system can be naturally decomposed by the photocatalytic reaction without loosing the reflection preventing effect, and the reflection preventing film 14 can have excellent contamination preventing characteristic.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the easy connection of a conductive layer by connecting the conductive layer to grounding electrodes via grooves for connection formed by penetrating through the nonconductive layer and conductive layer formed on the filter for a display device from its surface and the electrode layers covering the peripheral parts thereof. SOLUTION: After the filter 10 for the display device is stuck to the panel surface of a cathode ray tube, notches 50 (grooves for connection) are put usually at four corners of the points to be connected to the filter 10 for the display device at a invalid screen. The notches 50 are so formed as to penetrate at least the conductive layer 15. The grooves for connection and the peripheral parts thereof are covered with conductive materials to form the electrode layers 32 and to fill the grooves 50 for connection with the electrode layers 32. Fissures and cracks are generated by the strains generated at the time of forming the grooves on the peripheries of the grooves 50 for connection of an antireflection film 17 covering the conductive layer 15 by the formation of the grooves 50 for connection. The layer of the conductive layer is sometimes exposed on the inside surface of the grooves 50 for connection. Then, the connection of the electrode layers 32 to the conductive layer 15 is obtd. from the cracked parts of the antireflection film 17 on the inside surface of the grooves 50 for connection or the peripheries thereof.
