    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the magnetic record/reproduction efficiency by reducing the width of an auxiliary magnetic pole formed by a groove part in the track width direction in comparison with the width of a guard material block in the track width direction.
    CONSTITUTION: A main magnetic pole 2 made of a thin layer of solft magnetic material is held between guard material blocks 4 and 4'. These blocks and magnetic pole are unified together into a body. The blocks 4 and 4' are formed with nonmagnetic material parts 5 and 5' extending up to the desired positions from a contact surface with a magnetic recording medium and magnetic material parts 6 and 6' joined to the back of the parts 5 and 5' respectively. Auxiliary magnetic poles 7 and 7' joined to the pole 2 with a coil C wound therearound are provided at the parts 6 and 6'. The width W
    1 of the poles 7 and 7' is reduced in the track width direction compared with the width W
    2 of blocks 4 and 4' in the track width direction with correspondence to the prescribed track width. The coil C is wound around the pole 2 via the poles 7 and 7' through groove parts 9 and 9'. In such a way, the winding length is reduced to obtain a desired magnetic flux. Thus the efficiency is improved for magnetic record and reproduction.

CONSTITUTION:A second magnetic block 2 of U-form in section having serrated plane form protruding parts 12b1, 12b2 and a first magnetic block 11 of nearly flat plate form having serrated plane parts 11b1, 11b2 are bonded by way of a spacer 15 of non-magnetic material, after which the first magnetic block 11 is ground away down to the face shown by a dot-dash line (c) to expose the non-magnetic material having been deposited on the end face 12b1 of the second block 12. Next, a metal magnetic layer 18 of high saturated magnetic flux density such as permalloy or other is deposited on this surface 17, and further a non-magnetic material layer 19 such as of glass, ceramics or other to be a protecting layer is deposited on the outer side thereof, after which the layers is polished down to the face shown by a broken line (d). The assembly is then cut at the thickness shown by a broken line (e) to provide the magnetic head.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a head having a high sensitivity by extending a soft magnetic substance layer to an opposed face and forming the space between a main magnetic pole and the above-mentioned layers so as to be unequal in a track width direction. CONSTITUTION:When a current is made to flow through a coil 5, the main magnetic pole 1 and the return path part 2b of the soft magnetic substance layer 2 are excited by the part of the opposed face of a magnetic recording medium and the part 2a on the opposite side of the soft magnetic substance layer 2 is excited by the rear part of the coil 5. A magnetic flux generated by the excitation of the main magnetic pole 1 and the soft magnetic resubstance layer 2 is focused on the head part 1a of the main magnetic pole 1 and it executes effective recording in the perpendicular magnetic recording layer 13 of a magnetic recording medium 10. And the reture path 2b of the soft magnetic substance layer 2 is made to tilt against the main magnetic pole 1 and formed to have an azimuth so as to obtain an easy waveform of a sub pulse. Now, it is desirable that the width l of the tilt of the return path part 2b is made longer recorded waveform.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To remarkably improve a recording and reproducing sensitivity by extending a soft magnetic substance layer to an opposed face and also selecting 1-5mum as a space between a main magnetic pole and the soft magnetic substance layer. CONSTITUTION:In the head part 1a of the main magnetic pole 1, the thickness of a film is set thinner than any other part of the main magnetic pole 1 and in this part a magnetic flux is converged and effective recording and reproducing can be possible by steep magnetic field. Meanwhile, a second magnetic thin film is stacked and formed as the soft magnetic substance layer 2 through an insulating layer 4 on the main magnetic pole 1 and it is magnetically combined with the rear end side of the main magnetic pole 1 at a window part 4a for connection installed on the insulting layer 4. The space between the soft magnetic substance layer 2 and the main magnetic pole 1 is selected 1-5mum and the layer 2 consists of a part 2a extending to an opposite side and a part 2b extending to the opposed face of a magnetic recording medium as well as the main magnetic pole 1. The part 2b extending to the opposed face of the magnetic recording medium is exposed to the opposed face of the magnetic recording medium to act as a return path part.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain inexpensive material cost by forming separately a main magnetic pole block and a magnetic substance block having an exciting magnetic pole part and bonding them finally so as to relax the restriction of the thermal expansion rate of a nonpolar material adhered with the main magnetic pole and when widen remarkably the selective range of the nonmagnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A bonded composite block 19 is cut at a prescribed cut face C1 so as to form the main magnetic block 20 formed by clipping the main magnetic pole 1 comprising a soft magnetic thin film 15 with nonmagnetic card members 7 and 8. Then winding slots 18a, 18b are formed to the magnetic block 18 made of a magnetic ferrite. A center part 18c between the winding slots 18a, 18b becomes an exciting magnetic pole 9a of the main magnetic pole 1 at the completion of manufacture. The bonding face of the magnetic block 18 and the bonding face of the main magnetic block 20 are finished as mirror surface with good flatness. Moreover, the main magnetic block 20 and the magnetic substance block 18 are bonded by an adhesives. Since there is no process applying heat after the magnetic pole block 20 and the magnetic substance block 18 are bonded and the bonding part is not on the sliding face S, the adhesives cured at a low temperature can be used for the bonding and the bonding is attained even when the thermal expansion rate is far different between the nonmagnetic substance and the ferrite.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the relative speed of the head and to attain the satisfactory reproduction even with multi-channels by providing a cut part to a main magnetic pole and arranging an MR element having a magneto-sensitive part which is magnetically connected to the main magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 2 or recording/reproducing is divided into two parts by magnetic poles 2b and 2c together with a cut part 2d formed partially. The part 2d contains an MR (magneto-resistance effect) element 10 having a magnetic-sensitive part connected magentically to poles 2b and 2c. Then an energizing winding 4 and a common conductor 4b are formed by etching. In a reproduction mode the reproduced magnetic flux flowed from the tip 2a of the pole 2 is sent back to a recording medium after passing through the element 10, the main magnetic pole 2c and then magnetic matters 6 and 9. Thus the head relative speed is low since the element 10 has a magnetic flux response type structure. This ensures the satisfactory reproduction even with many channels and a narrow track.
