PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control tracking even when the sensitivity of a magnetic head is not uniform by correcting the signal level of first and second position error signals so that coordinates being indicated by the signal level of the first and second error signals are rotated around a zero point by a specific angle. SOLUTION: A first position error signal that is a difference in the level between first and second patterns for detecting position and a second position error signal that is the level difference of the reproduction signal of third and fourth patterns for detecting position are expressed by setting them to two coordinate axes that orthogonally cross each other. In the coordinate system, coordinates being expressed by the signal level of the first position error signal and that of the second position error signal are rotated around a zero point by a specific angle, thus correcting the signal level of the first and second position error signals and generating first and second correction position error signals.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to secure the accuracy, to make the device constitution small, to prevent the manufacturing cost from increasing, to increase the recording density of the spiral servo information recording. SOLUTION: A rugged pattern for positioning a head to the 1b surface of the magnetic disk medium is formed at the step ST1, and servo information is written onto the 1a surface as a magnetization reversal pattern for the head positioning, at the steps ST3 and ST4, while performing the positioning for write-in onto the 1a surface of the magnetic disk medium based on the rugged pattern read out from the 1b surface.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of a high frequency oscillation of a driving current during a speed follow-up control period by providing a filtering means, which has a large attenuation characteristic at high frequencies, in a control loop and constituting the means so as to be operated only during a prescribed head high speed moving period among the speed follow-up control periods. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency attenuation filtering means 22 and a changeover switch 19 are added to a conventionally constituted magnetic disk device. The high frequency attenuation characteristic of the means 22 is selected so that high frequency oscillations of the driving current during a high speed moving period are satisfactorily attenuated, the switch 19 is only switched during a prescribed head high speed moving period in the speed follow-up control period. Thus, without adversely affecting the transient response after the switching is made to a position control loop, high frequency oscillations in a driving current during a high speed moving period, in which the degradation of speed signal S/N is large, are reduced among speed follow-up control periods.

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of follow up to a velocity profile by providing estimated velocity having a little error even when there is fluctuation or individual difference in the generated power of an actuator or external force, etc. CONSTITUTION:A target velocity generation circuit 21 generates the target moving velocity of a head. A velocity estimation observer 22 generates the estimated velocity based on a present head position and a controlled variable u'(k). An adder 23 calculates velocity error as difference between the target moving velocity and the estimated velocity. An acceleration feed forward circuit 24 generates a feed forward controlled variable corresponding to the acceleration of the target moving velocity. A proportional control circuit 25 generates a proportional controlled variable in proportion to the velocity error. An integration control circuit 26 generates an integration controlled variable in proportion to the integrated value of velocity error. An adder 27 generates the controlled variable u'(k) by adding the feed forward controlled variable and the proportional controlled variable. An adder 28 outputs a controlled variable u(k) corresponding to an actuator driving current by adding the controlled variable u'(k) and the integrated controlled variable.

PURPOSE:To put a desired program in a timer record by a method wherein reservation information being in accord with a reservation information element is retrieved from a data base means when the reservation information element is inputted to an input means, and the information is displayed as a reservation information candidate on the basis of conviction degree information. CONSTITUTION:When a remote-commander 2 is operated and an input statement is inputted, the statement is analyzed in an input statement processing unit 6 and resolved into reservation information elements. When necessary reservation information elements are all present, the reservation information elements are stored in a reservation information storage unit 10 and timer reservation is set. In a habitual learning management unit 16, reservation information in a registration packet is retrieved from a habitual data base 14 and thereby the reservation information on the same program reserved in the past is retrieved. When reservation of the same program is already registered in the data base 14, the reservation information is updated, and when it is not registered, the reservation information in the registration packet is registered in the data base 14. When the reservation information is inputted in an incomplete form, an inquiry packet is formed of the inputted reservation information elements in the processing unit 6 and delivered to the management unit 16.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate the distance to a subject and a skin area of the subject.SOLUTION: A first LED irradiates a subject with first wavelength light, and a second LED irradiates the subject with second wavelength light different from the first wavelength. A distance image sensor receives reflective light from the subject. A skin detection part detects a skin area indicating the skin of the subject on the basis of a first image acquired by reception of the first wavelength light as the reflective light from the subject, and a second image acquired by reception of the second wavelength light as the reflective light from the subject. The distance image sensor calculates first round-trip time from the irradiation of the subject with the first wavelength light to the reception of the first wavelength light from the subject as the reflective light, and calculates the distance to the subject on the basis of the calculated first round-trip time. The present disclosure is applicable to, for example, an imaging device or the like which generates a distance image by imaging a subject.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to operate an information processing device without a sense of discomfort regardless of a distance between the information processing device and the user.SOLUTION: A skin area detection unit 61 detects a skin area indicating skin of a user from an image. A feature point extraction unit 62 extracts a feature point in the skin area. A distance calculation unit 63 calculates a distance to the user based on the skin area. A coordinate conversion unit 46 determines a conversion coefficient for converting the feature point into a coordinate point in a predetermined coordinate space according to the distance and converts the feature point into the coordinate point in the predetermined coordinate space based on the determined conversion coefficient. The present invention can be applied to, for example, a detection device for detecting a skin area of a user from a photographed image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stable servo operation even when an optical pickup having a plurality of objective lenses and having a rotational resonance mode of a relatively high frequency is used. SOLUTION: An optical disk device 10 having focus servo and tracking servo functions includes an optical pickup 50 having a plurality of objective lenses. In the disk device, a plurality of sorts of optical disk media 110 can be mounted and dismounted. In the disk device, the gain crossing frequency of the tracking servo is determined to be a frequency corresponding to 2.0 times or more the resonance frequency of the rotational resonance mode influencing the tracking servo of the optical pickup 50. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device in which reliability of the device is improved by adopting new observation information and the processing method of the observation information and to provide the evaluation method of the device. SOLUTION: At least one of the followings is observed as new observation information in order to observe the physical condition of the device, i.e., the amount of jitter (the amount of phase difference) of servo clock obtained from a tracking/phase information detector 31, the amount of positional error of a head and the amount of driving current of a spindle motor.
