Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an optical lens in such a manner that sufficient strength of adhesion to a lens holder may be obtained in a sufficiently small region. SOLUTION: The optical lens arranged to face a recording medium is constituted by forming a sand texture rough surface region 9 in part of a circumferential direction on the outer periphery on the surface side of an objective lens 2 facing the recording medium. The strength of adhesion of the optical lens to the lens holder is enhanced by the presence of this sand texture rough surface region 9.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability and to avert the occurrence of measurement errors of an electrostatic capacity with a recording medium and the occurrence of rubbing flaws, etc., based on the electrode peeling to a recording medium and optical lens surface by making it possible to remove the deposits of the optical lens by chemical wet etching. SOLUTION: The optical lens of the optical device, with which at least either of optical recording or optical reproducing of the recording medium 1 is executed, is deposited with the electrodes 7 on its surface facing the recording medium. These electrodes are composed of an electrode material which is not deteriorated in chemical, electrical and mechanical characteristics as the electrodes by immersing the electrode material at least for one minute in an aqueous solution of 3.72% hydrochloric acid and an aqueous solution of 10% potassium hydroxide. The patterning of the electrodes is made possible by etching and the formation of the electrodes free of 'flashes' at the edges and the removal of the deposits on the formed electrodes by etching are made possible and the deterioration of the electrodes is averted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for applying an AR coat to a cover layer on the recording layer of an optical record medium by forming a magnetic field generation means on a surface that opposes the optical record medium of a lens and forming an electrode for detecting capacitance with respect to the optical record medium at the outer-periphery region. SOLUTION: An electrode S for detecting capacitance to a magnetooptical disk 2 is formed at the outer-periphery region of a spiral-shaped coil part 46 on a surface that opposes the magnetooptical disk 2 of a coil-supporting substrate 44. The electrode S is divided into a plurality of portions for each specific region. For example, the electrode S is divided into two portions concentrically. The outer-periphery region of the coil part 46 that is a magnetic field generation element is provided with an optical element with an electrode for detecting the capacitance at an area to the magnetooptical disk 2. Therefore, by measuring the capacitance between the electrode S and the magnetooptical disk 2, the distance between the electrode S and the magnetooptical disk 2 can be set to preset distance.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical lens having a high refractive index, to provide a condensing lens which is suitable for a near-field recording and reproducing system by using it and to provide an optical pickup device and an optical recording and reproducing device which cope with a high density and a large capacity of an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The main component of a first optical lens 2 is constituted of GaN, or the first optical lens 2 is constituted of a GaN single crystal having the crystal structure of a cubic system, or the first optical lens 2 is constituted of the GaN single crystal having a crystal structure of hexagonal system, and the size of a luminous flux made incident on a second optical lens 3 is made small, and the condensing lens 4 is constituted of the first optical lens 2 and the second optical lens 3. In this case, the NA(numerical aperture) of the condensing lens 4 is set to be >=1.5, and the condensing lens 4 is made small in size and light in weight.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical lens having a high refractive index, to obtain a condenser lens 4 adequate for a near field recording and reproducing system, and to make it possible to deal with a trend toward the higher density and larger capacity of an optical recording medium by using GaP as an essential component constituting the optical lens. SOLUTION: The condenser lens 4 composed, successively from an optical recording medium 1 side, of a first optical lens 2 and a second optical lens 3 is fixed to a slider. The essential component of the first optical lens 2 of the case is composed of GaP. The first optical lens 2 is otherwise composed of a GaP single crystal. The first optical lens 2 is so shaped that the objective face, i.e., the face opposite to the optical recording medium 1 is plane and the opposite surface of the objective face is a convex spherical surface and the surrounding blank is a fixed surface to the slider. The GaP single crystal has a cleavage plane at a (110) face and allows the formation of the plane without polishing. Namely, the first optical lens 2 is manufactured without requiring many man-hours by forming the objective face of the first optical lens 2 at the (110) face.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric actuator which can operate over a wide voltage range with high response by bonding a plate member and a piezoelectric ceramic through an alloy layer containing at least gallium. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric actuator comprises piezoelectric ceramics 2 arranged on a plate member 1 while being boded through an alloy layer 3 containing at least gallium. The plate member 1 is composed, at least the bonding surface 1a side thereof, of a conductive material so that a voltage can be applied to the piezoelectric ceramics 2 laminated with an electrode 4. When a voltage is fed between the electrode 4 arranged on the piezoelectric ceramics 2 and the conductive material of plate member 1, the piezoelectric ceramics 2 is displaced. Similarly, the plate member 1 is displaced to cause displacement of the entire piezoelectric actuator corresponding to the supplied voltage. Since the displacement of piezoelectric ceramics 2 is not absorbed easily at the bonded part, high response is ensured and the piezoelectric actuator can be operated over a wide voltage range.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide which can increase the coupling efficiency between an optical fiber and a light source. SOLUTION: The light guide which consists of a plurality of optical fibers and transmits light, has a plurality of arrayed optical fibers (4a to 4d) whose end surfaces are light incidence parts, and an optical lens array 1 which consists of an inorganic material or the like and is arrayed on a lens substrate 10 in which a plurality of optical lens parts (11a to 11d) consists of an optical material so as to correspond to the light incidence parts. Light L emitted from a light source 2 is coupled with the light incidence parts of the optical fibers (4a to 4d) by the optical lens array 1. A plurality of mask layers of a prescribed pattern are formed on a lens substrate. Each mask layer and the lens substrate are simultaneously removed by etching, and the shape of each mask layer is transcribed on the lens substrate. The optical lens array 1 is then formed as a shape of a plurality of optical lens parts.
