    Abstract: A filter circuit whose cut-off frequency is easily controlled and which can be manufactured as an integrated circuit. The base electrode of a first transistor is connected to an input terminal by a reactance element, such as a capacitor. Second and third transistors are connected in differential amplifier configuration, and a current source is connected to the common connection of the emitter electrodes thereof. The emitter electrode of the first transistor is connected to the base electrode of the second transistor and the base electrode of the first transistor is connected to the collector electrode of the second transistor. An output terminal is connected to at least one of the collector and emitter electrodes of the first transistor.

    Abstract: An automatic white balance control circuit includes a main photo-sensor (11) from which three primary color signals are derived (12), three external light sensing elements (21R, 21G, 21B) having spectral characteristics the same as those of the main photo-sensor (11), three capacitors (24R, 24G, 24B) for converting output currents from the three external light sensing elements to respective voltages, a voltage comparator (34) for comparing a voltage across at least the one capacitor (24G) corresponding to green light with a reference voltage (35), and three sample-and-hold circuits (27R, 28R; 27G, 28G; 27B, 28B) for sampling and holding voltages from the three capacitors (24R, 24G, 24B), respectively. Charging of the three capacitors by output currents from the three external light sensing elements, respectively, is started at the commencement of each cycle. When the voltage comparator (34) produces a compared output in response to the voltage across the one capacitor (24G) having become equal to the reference voltage, the charging is stopped and the voltages then present on the three capacitors are sampled and held by the three sample-and-hold circuits to thereby provide white balance control signals by which the level ratios of the three primary color signals derived from the main photo-sensor are controlled to be 1:1:1 thereby to adjust the white balance.

    Abstract: Apparatus for eliminating time base errors from a carriermodulated information signal, such as a color video signal which is reproduced from a record medium. A circuit including a variable oscillator generates a carrier signal of controllable frequency and phase. An automatic frequency control circuit detects the time base frequency error in the carrier-modulated information signal and produces a frequency error signal proportional to the detected frequency error. An automatic phase control circuit detects a time base phase error in the carrier-modulated information signal and produces a phase error signal proportional to the detected phase error. A switching circuit selectively supplies either the frequency error signal or the phase error signal as a control signal to the variable oscillator so as to correspondingly control the frequency and phase of the generated carrier signal. in a manner to eliminate such frequency and phase errors, the frequency and phase error signals being supplied to the variable oscillator during selected mutually exclusive intervals. A frequency converter is provided with the controlled carrier signal and with the information signal so as to convert the carrier of the information signal with the generated, controlled carrier such that the frequency-converted information signal has a carrier of substantially constant frequency and phase.

    Abstract: A phase detector comprising a first differential amplifier for receiving a first input signal and having an output circuit which produces an output that is a direct function of the first input signal. An actuable second differential amplifier receives a second input signal and includes an output circuit for producing an output signal which is proportional to the phase difference between the first and second input signals. The second differential amplifier is coupled to the first differential amplifier output circuit so as to be actuated by the output produced by the output circuit and to thereby produce an output signal representing the phase difference between the second input signal and the output supplied by the first differential amplifier output circuit. The output produced by the first differential amplifier output circuit is supplied as a differential amplifier current to the second differential amplifier. Hence, in one embodiment, the second differential amplifier includes common-connected stages connected in differential configuration, the common connection being coupled to the first differential amplifier output circuit.
