Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium in which disappearance of recorded signals or damages in the optical recording medium due to accumulated heat by irradiation of light can be prevented, and to provide an optical recording device equipped with that medium. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium consists of a substrate 11, reflection film 12 formed on the substrate 11, recording layer 14 formed on the reflection film 12, and first protective layer 15 formed on the recording layer 14, and information is recorded and reproduced by irradiating the recording layer 14 with light from an optical system through the first protective layer 15 side. A light-transmitting heat radiating layer 16 which accelerates diffusion of heat from the recording layer 14 is formed on the first protective layer 15. The optical recording device is equipped with that optical recording medium.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup capable of obtaining capacitance corresponding to a distance between an optical system and an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: This optical pickup is provided with a semiconductor laser, an optical system that converges a laser beam from the semiconductor laser to irradiate an optical disk 51, and a light receiving element that photoelectrically converts the laser beam reflected on the optical disk 51. The optical system is provided with an objective lens and a solid immersion lens 3. The objective lens converges the laser beam from the semiconductor laser and supplies it to the solid immersion lens 3. In the bottom of the solid immersion lens 3, the laser beam passing through the objective lens is converged at and passed through a center part 3a the first and second electrodes 6a, 6b are formed nearly concentrically around the optical axis of the solid immersion lens 3 at a peripheral part 3b.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for applying an AR coat to a cover layer on the recording layer of an optical record medium by forming a magnetic field generation means on a surface that opposes the optical record medium of a lens and forming an electrode for detecting capacitance with respect to the optical record medium. SOLUTION: At least either of a coil part 46 including the take-out electrode of a spiral coil part 46 or a magnetic body core being formed at the lower layer or the upper layer of the coil part 46 via an insulation layer plays a role of an electrode S for detecting capacitance with respect to a magnetooptical disk 2, or the electrode S for detecting the capacitance with respect to the magnetooptical disk 2 is formed independently of the coil part 46 and the magnetic body core. By measuring the capacitance between the electrode and the magnetooptical disk and hence setting the distance between the electrode and the magnetooptical disk to preset distance, the position of an optical element can be adjusted to a position for focusing irradiation light on the recording layer of the magnetooptical disk.

SOLUTION: The optical head has a light source, the objective lens 20 which is composed of >=2 elements of the lenses and has the numerical aperture of >=0.8 and an aberration correction lens group 1 which is arranged between the light source and the objective lens 20 and is composed of two groups; a positive lens group 3 and a negative lens group 2. The aberration correction lens group 1 corrects the spherical aberrations which occur on the respective optical surfaces of the optical system by the spacing between the positive lens group 3 and the negative lens group 2 which is varied in an optical axis direction.

Thus, the distance between the first lens 12 and second lens 14 constituting the two group objective lenses and the offset value in the focus control are optimized simultaneously.

In this case, the voice coil motor 11 is attached to the movable part of the biaxial actuator 5, the source ball lens 3 is attached to the movable part of the voice coil motor 11, and the destination ball lens 4 is attached to the movable part of the biaxial actuator 5.
