Abstract: A linear electromagnetic driving apparatus includes a substantially rectangular tube-shaped magnetic yoke comprised of outer (9) and inner (10) frame plates spaced apart to form a gap (11) with at least one magnet (16) secured to an outer (9) or inner (10) frame plate to generate magnetic flux. A bobbin (14) supporting a coil (24) which extends in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the magnetic yoke (8,9,10) is positioned in the gap (11). A driven member (12,13) is secured to and coaxial with the bobbin (14) and has openings (35) to receive the inner frame plates (10) of the yoke such that when the coil (24) is energized to move the bobbin (14) in the gap (11), the inner frame plates (10) extend into and through the bobbin (14) and into and through the openings (35) of the driven member (12,13). A fixed shaft (4a) extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the yoke; and a bearing (18a) secured to the bobbin structure and extending outwardly therefrom receives and is slidable on the fixed shaft (4a). At least one of the corners formed on the rectangular tube-shaped yoke (8,9,10) is cut out to define an open portion through which the bearing (18a) passes so as to be unobstructed as the bobbin (14) slides within the yoke.

Abstract: A voice coil type actuator wherein the length in an axial direction and the number of parts is reduced without deteriorating a required function and the magnetic flux density in a space in which a movable coil (11) is located is substantially uniform over the entire length in an axial direction. The voice coil type actuator comprises a fixed guide shaft (14) having a radial portion made of a permeable material and a movable body supported for axial sliding movement on the guide shaft. The movable coil (11) is supported coaxially with the guide shaft (14) on the movable body (13). A yoke (17) having a substantially cylindrical profile is disposed in such a manner as to surround a range of movement of the movable coil (11), and a pair of fixed magnets (18,18') are disposed in contact with the guide shaft (14) and the yoke (17) and magnetized with the opposite polarities in a radial direction. The yoke (17) has a recess (17a) formed therein in the axial direction of the yoke, and a movable member to be moved by the actuator is supported at a portion of the movable body (13) which extends laterally through the recess in the yoke.

Abstract: The lens barrel apparatus comprises an outer shell (3), lens holding member (33, 25, 40) holding a focusing lens (10) thereon, the latter being contained within the outer shell for movement in a direction of an optic axis of the focusing lens, and an actuator (32) including an actuating coil (35) secured to one of the lens holding member (25) and the outer shell and wound around a coil core (31). The actuator further includes a magnet secured to the other of the lens holding member (33) and the outer shell in a coaxial relationship with the actuating coil (35) around the optic axis. According to the invention, a detecting coil (37) is wound on the coil core in an overlapping relationship with the actuating coil (35) for detecting a speed of movement of the focusing lens. This arrangement whereby the speed detection coil and the actuating are superimposed on a common core economises on the number of parts required, as well as on weight and cost.

At least one of the corners formed on the rectangular tube-shaped yoke is cut out to define an open portion through which the bearing passes so as to be unobstructed as the bobbin slides within the yoke.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of the adjusting operation of the distance between a first lens and a second lens by preventing a first lens supporting body moving along a supporting shaft from being inclined to the direction of an optical axis. SOLUTION: When driving currents are supplied to the coil for driving 78 of an electromagnetic driving part 77, the coil for driving 78 is moved in directions of arrows C1, C2 along a supporting shaft 60. Consequently, since the coil for driving 78 is provided on the bearing part 64 of a front cell lens holder 58, the front cell lens holder 58 is moved along the supporting shaft 60 with the bearing part 64. As a result, since a front cell lens 56 is also moved, the distance in the direction of the optical axis with a rear cell lens 57 can be adjusted and the spherical aberration accompanying the variation of the thickness of the light transmission layer of a signal reading surface side which protects the signal recording surface of an optical disk is corrected. Moreover, since the electromagnetic driving part 77 is provided for this device, the reducing of power consumption required for holding the distance between the front cell lens and the rear cell lens postrior to the adjustment is made possible.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operational reliability of an objective lens part and to make a whole device small in size. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a first optical system 11 having a two-group objective lens part 22 having a front lens 23 arranged on a position facing a third optical disk 8 and a rear lens 24 arranged by making the optical axis coincident with that of the front lens 23. The device is also provided with a second optical system 12 having an objective lens 34 and a first and second gap detecting photodetectors 61, 62 for detecting an interval between the signal read-out surface of the third optical disk 8 and the front lens 23 of the two- group objective lens part 22. The device is provided with a bobbin 36 in which the two-group objective lens part 22 of the first optical system 11 and the objective lens 34 of the second optical system 12 are arranged, respectively, and an electromagnetic driving mechanism for moving the bobbin 36 in a first direction parallel with the optical axes of the front lens 23 of the two-group objective lens part 22 and the objective lens 34 and in a second direction orthogonal to the optical axis.
