Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the input torque into a shaft member without increasing the cost and the weight in a shaft drive type moving device, and save the space. SOLUTION: A shaft drive type moving device 1 is provided with a drive mechanism 2 to transmit the power to a wheel 3 through a rotary shaft member 4. A torsion detecting means 7 to detect the torsion of the shaft member 4 and a torque calculating means 8 to calculate the input torque to be applied to the shaft member 4 from the torsion detected by the torsion detecting means 7 are provided, and the signal to indicate the input torque obtained by the torque calculating means 8 is transmitted to a power control means 9 to control the main power of the moving device 1 or the auxiliary power to the main power.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable wide application to an existing moving device without reforming the moving device for mounting a power source part by housing the power source part and a motor in a housing integrated with the axle of the moving device. SOLUTION: A motor 11 is arranged to be integrated in the housing 12 of a driving unit 19, and the 3-phase brushless motor of an outer rotor type is provided, where an outer rotor 13 is rotated and an inner stator 14 is stopped. The stator 14 is fixed to a stator base 16 fixed to the shaft 7a of a rear wheel. In the stator base 16, for example a power source part 24 having a number of lithium ion batteries 23, 23,..., arranged on a circumference is provided, and in its inner side, a control part 25 is provided for assisting the stepping force of an operator. Thus, since the power source part 24 and the control part 25 are housed together with the motor 13 in the housing 12, an ordinary bicycle is easily reformed to be an electric bicycle.
